They don’t even ask.

Maybe that should bother me ...

LOL. Been there too. But I don't worry about it.

Ha. Monday I was conducting an online class in a specialized computer communications protocol and mentioned that a particular message was equivalent to "Car 54, Where Are You?"

One of the "students" noted that I was dating myself. Ironically, I just looked it up and learned it was a TV sitcom -- which I never saw because we didn't get our first TV until after the program ended. All I knew was the question.

OTOH, maybe the kids today don't know the quote.

"Car 54, Where are you?" was a sitcom based on a Mutt and Jeff pair of cops.

I'll wait while you look that up.

Officer Toody was fond of saying, "Ooh, ooh, ooh!" apparently whenever he had what he thought was an inspiring thought.

Hm. A tall German and a short Irishman. Interesting mix. (I'm guessing "Toody" is "Thude", "Tuede" or some such Americanized.)

But whatever, I always assumed it was a quote from a program, not the title. Oh well.

Yes, but did you know what I meant by “Mutt and Jeff”?

Well, I can’t say I know what you meant by the term - the question is really open-ended - so... I don’t know. What did you mean by it?

The phrase came into the vernacular in 1907.

But it does have a long history after that.

So is that dish I took out of the ‘fridge.

Pretty much how I feel about that, and political correctness too.

While a lot of planning went into the placement of things on the Flying Castle Habitat, and Habitat A and B, the Thrust Ring is a feng shui free area.

It’s bedlam up there.
