UPDATE-HR1388,soon to be known as S277,SENATE proceeds Vote TODAY on Cloture-Let's Blow the Whistle

..(snip)…Does this not raise suspicion? While we hear of the “outrage” of the people who brought us the bonus scandal, the same people are rushing to pass the GIVE Act (you give, they take): national service. Senator Reid asked that the Senate proceed to act on this bill and then immediately asked for a cloture motion.

Cloture The cloture rule–Rule 22–is the only formal procedure that Senate rules provide for breaking a filibuster. A filibuster is an attempt to block or delay Senate action on a bill or other matter. Under cloture, the Senate may limit consideration of a pending matter to 30 additional hours of debate.

This bill has been rushed through the House, sent immediately to the Senate floor and then the cloture rule is immediately invoked to prevent filibuster before the Senate has even begun to discuss this bill. Why? Why is the Democratic Party so intent on passing this bill RIGHT NOW? Didn’t they make a big enough blunder passing the Recovery Act like this? Haven’t they learned? Or maybe they have; maybe this was all planned before the new administration moved in: ram the legislation we want down the throat of the people before we even know what is happening. (They are doing the same thing with the Card Check Bill.)

Note that Senator Reid is also asking that mandatory quorum be waived.

Please call your Senators today and voice your concerns. Please let them know we deserve to hear a debate on HR1388. We want this Bill fully aired and vetted in front of CSPAN cameras as opposed to behind closed doors in “CONFERENCE” somewhere in the bowels of the Capitol.

The Democrat Socialists aren’t passing a bill that sets up an Obama Brownshirt Army are they? Just asking.

I’m 62 and not well; doubt I could handle a stint in Obama’s Mandatary “Volunteer” Force at this point.

I’m 60 and adequate and will not be volunteering for any Obamanation program. Resistance may well be futile but I will enjoy it while I can and hope to take a few of the bastards with me when I go. If enough of us resist and whittle them down, eventually they will run out of willing accomplices.

Hah. I wonder what kind of an assignment they’ll give me (an ageing high school graduate of 62 yrs.). Probably, I’ll be assigned to sling hash at the “mandatory volunteer campuses” in order to feed the academic and punk types that go out and throttle all the other old people who won’t cooperate. (They’ll need their energy for that!) Ugh. I’m hiding out in the wilderness.
