Way back in the late 1940’s my dad was a traveling salesman for U.O. Colson, a company that sold all sorts of sales and promotional items. My sister and I used to spend the weekends going through his salesman's case playing with the samples. There were several of those pens in his samples. We thought nothing of it at the time. He had all sorts of things that were truly fascinating to a couple of first and second grade kids! Magnets, pocket knives, pens, calendars, cups and glasses, all manner of neat things.
