Prayer request: Swordmaker's older daughter having pituitary tumor surgery

My 33 year old daughter, Becky, is going to have surgery in about an hour to remove a tumor from her pituitary gland. The tumor, about 1.5 cm in size, is causing her to throw off hormones which are playing havoc with her body. Because of its location, just below the optic nerve, pituitary tumors can threaten one's eyesight and surgery in this area is inherently risky to the optic nerve and could result in blindness. The procedure, which should take about three hours, accesses the pituitary gland through the nostrils.

Please pray for a good outcome and to safeguard her eyesight.

Over the past three years, while they've been trying to shrink the tumor with drug therapy, Becky has named the tumor "Fred." I hope the Fredectomy is sucessful and that Fred is evicted. . . permanently.

To all of you who offered up your prayers and well wishes, Thank you! Becky is home and the surgery went exceedingly well. The surgeon said that "Fred" cooperated and was not touching either the optic nerve or the vein. He said they got 100% of it. Now I wish to commend to you our fellow Freeper Kitkat, who's daughter was struck with a sudden stroke. Please post your prayers on the following thread for Kitkat, her daughter and her daughters two young children.
