what started this birth certificate debacle?

i have a question. (actually, i have lots of questions!)

what or who was it that first questioned obama's place of birth?

i am trying to figure out the original source of this info. it seems to me that the key accusation of his kenyan birth came from some who either knew or speculated that his mother traveled to kenya in the summer of 1961. it is certainly a reasonable hypothesis, but is there any evidence or reference that someone can site as to the first person that claimed this?

i think that philip berg was the first to claim that obama's mother traveled to kenya. does anyone recall if he actually was the first and, if so, what he based this claim on?

before you all start calling me an obot, here me out.

I BELIEVE THAT OBAMA IS CONSTITUTIONALLY INELIGIBLE TO BE POTUS, regardless of where he was born because his father was never a US citizen.

it is possible that the kenyan birth theory could have been started to divert our attention from the obvious and well documented fact that obama is not a nbc because his father was a foreign national.

this birth certificate issue has been twisted by the media and others, resulting in anyone who questioned his eligibility to be labeled as "wacko conspiracy theorists, racists, etc. this has resulted in the loss of credibility of this issue in the public eye and hinders otherwise intelligent citizens from looking further into the details of this case.

it is a safe assumption that a harvard trained constitutional lawyer, such as obama, would know the definition of nbc and how he is not one.

of course, i still think it's possible that he was born in kenya. i just think it is easy to get lost in all of the evidence and theories. it would be a good idea for us to step back, look at the big picture and try to determine how this whole mess began.

good bless america! thanks to all who still want to protect our constitution.

I think that many of the people here are intelligent enough to focus on more than one issue at a time.

Intelligent people, of course there are, but the bc, hidden medical files, passports, school records, will be exposed, BUT the important matter now is the stimulus package. I don't believe for one minute you can't search on here and find 100,000 answers to the question you asked. Method of mass distraction won't work. Sorry, that bill is being opposed, strongly. Trust me, there are many people behind the scenes that are gathering evidence and have evidence. They won't reveal it on here, that is something you can take to the bank.

I hope that you are right and that there are people behind the scenes gathering evidence. It would be better for our country for us to get this whole natural born question publicly resolved. People need to be able to trust their government and Obama’s secretiveness is not helping at all.

I had no intention of distracting anyone from opposing the “stimulus bill”. I agree that opposing this bill is the most important issue that we can address right now.

That type of vulgar spending and government interference is what has got us into this mess. It infuriates me to see them trying to ram this bill down our throats, falsely claiming that it’s the only way to save our economy.

How do you you suggest we verify a candidates qualifications, mind reading?

The same way we have with past presidential candidates.

Now you're going in circles. I explained before the difference between OB's qualifications and the other presidents. If you're not going to do the reading, please drop the class. We don't allow repeat questions.

You really have run out of arguments. Either be creative or just admit you don't care about the constitutional requirements and you'll just let any foreign born popular person run because no one asked Eisenhower ot JFK or Nixon where they were born. Then you can announce your president on the people's choice award.

Anybody seen a birth certificate? Anyone? Nobody? Oh, I guess he's okay then.

Please send me a check for $100. I am erecting a plaque at his birthplace in Honiolulu as soon as we find out where it is.

And then “Roy” died.

You thought he was asleep.

Well, Sarah, I missed this thread on Friday. I see that the gang has really been giving you the treatment. This is an extremely tough audience and with very good reason: FR is heavily infiltrated with trolls and obots which makes us constitutionalists a bit gunshy about newbies. I had to prove myself a while back because I lurked for so long. So what is happening to you is not unusual. If you are a troll, it will be made clear soon enough. In the meantime, if you want to be taken seriously, I can only suggest that you avoid DU terms like “birther,” “truther,” “Obama derangement syndrome” as well as the terms that Polarik advised you about (”wingnut,” “tinfoil hat”) and stay away from vanities for awhile. They are not much appreciated and arouse suspicion. Also, if you are not a troll, you should avoid feeding trolls. I think you’ve already picked up on who they are: the ones who think that the Constitution should define NBC, who expect us to prove a negative about Obama’s eligibility while giving him a pass as though he is some precious flower which needs to be protected. They ooze illogic and try to insult the intelligence of constitutionalists every time an eligibility thread appears. In fact, they show up on these threads with supersonic speed every single time one is posted. The best thing to do is to simply ignore them and to not respond to them if they contact you. Oh, yes—try to use good spelling and grammar. Constitutionalists tend to appreciate that. If you are a sincere lover of the Constitution, I wish you well here!

Thank you so much! That was a great summary and good advice too. I especially agree with the part about illogical requests to prove a negative. It’s good to find someone with a similar way of thinking who understands the of the rules of logic.

I do love the Constitution and I am confident that others will believe that after I have been here for awhile.

I think you’re on the level, if that means anything to anyone. Starting off on FR by posting a vanity got some wheels turning in a lot of long-time freeper heads, as posting a vanity so early in the game about an inciendiary subjectlike B.O.’s eligibility violated certain long-standing FR protocols. But I noticed that you espouse constitutionalist principles, which causes me to believe
that you are what you say you are.

Have a greet week!
