The Warsaw Community High School (Indiana) chapter of Young Americans for Liberty was barred from passing out literature expressing doubts about the wisdom of President Obama announced policy intentions. Assistant Principal Steve Ferber said he was forced to take the action because the literature was dangerously critical of our president.
The time for debating policies is over, Ferber contended. Obama was the winner in the election. In four years there will be another election for president. Until then, it is every Americans duty to support his program. Criticism just undermines the presidents ability to succeed.
Ferber rejected comparisons with the endless stream of criticism that members of the right-wing say undermined President Bushs ability to lead during his administration. Bush clearly took this country down the wrong path, Ferber said. Criticism was necessary in order to prevent greater harm. We supported students right to speak up for their future in those perilous times. But times have changed. The new president must be given a fair chance to implement his agenda without the carping of naysayers.
The dangerous literature that the students had planned to distribute during lunch included a booklet of facts about the U.S. Constitution; stickers with the words Youll be disappointed and Not Change, and a flyer titled Dont be fooled by rhetoric.
In a separate incident, President Obama confirmed the new reality by pointing out to Senate Republican critics of his stimulus package thatI won. The people are behind me. For the next four years I will be calling the shots. If you want a piece of the pie youll have to go along. Therell be enough to share with those who are team players.

dangerously critical of our president.
Liberals always go for censure. They talk a big talk about “ideas” and “expressions” and “tolerance” but they have none for anything they do not agree with.

Yes, Comrade.
a) Support his PROGRAM? You are aware that that means, “support whatever he proposes”? Which is dead wrong. It’s not ANYone’s duty to “support a program”. Then there is no need for any debate, ever, by that standard.
b) Ability to succeed? So, we’re worried about whether our li’l toddler will have good esteem?
Now THAT’s a work of art!
This reminds me of Assistant Principals I have known...
Thanks!
When Pelosi says believes she can save the world, and when Al Franken can run for Senate and folks ACTUALLY vote for him, who can tell real from fiction these days?
I was into the second paragraph before I looked at the link. It's kinda sad that we can't tell the difference sometimes.

Thanks again!
Warsaw school did refuse the material and told the student to not bring back the material. Saying it was against policy to distribute religious or political materials.
Guess freedom of speech is history in schools. Unless you are a liberal.
