Daddy’s little girl will not make like Uncle Teddy and Uncle Bobby (and Daddy too). Caroline says no. And now that Hillary is officially Secretary of State, there is an empty Senate seat to fill.

From the New York Post via Fox News:

Caroline Kennedy has told Gov. David Paterson that she is withdrawing her name from consideration to replace outgoing Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton in the U.S. Senate, The Post has learned.

Kennedy cited "personal reasons," according to sources.

If I didn’t know better, in that picture Caroline looks like she was born Carl, then had a nip and tuck job, ah, I think they call it gender alignment now for PC purposes.

Or could it have simply been she did at least have the sense to recognize that she is one of the least qualified people to hold that job in the United States, if not the entire planet - if you don’t count Rio Linda?

Hopefully that's it. All the flack that Palin took because of her "lack of qualification" and then Caroline comes along that has nothing but a last name. She probably decided that her private life all these years is not worth giving up and besides, she doesn't need the income -- or grief.

Rush, this is my second reply to you tonight, but great minds think alike!!! I thought that too when I saw the pic of Caroline. Carol Beer is better looking though!! (love little Britain!!!)

Caroline Kennedy and I have very little in common politically, but I would like to put in a good word for her. She has always been a private person who has shunned the limelight. People ridicule her for using "like" and "you know" a lot but that's because she isn't used to speaking publically. In addition to the "puff" books that people have cited, she cowrote two books on civil liberties.

Paterson is likely to pick a political operative like Andrew Cuomo.

I think Ms Kennedy would make a superb Ambassador to the Court of St. James's -- (U.S. Ambassador to the UK). She has "all of the right stuff" for that duty. Recall that her grandfather, Joseph P. Kennedy Sr., served in that post under FDR.

He’s screwed himself into a deep deep corner as Governor, totally over his head and looking for an escape.
