Why Do Homosexuals Want to Serve in the Military? For Sex, Of Course

Now that Barack Obama will be the 44th president of the United States and commander-in-chief, will he do away with the military’s “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy on gays?

Within days of becoming president, Bill Clinton sought to eliminate the long-standing prohibition against homosexuals enlisting into military service. His proposal met such stark opposition from within the ranks of the military that he was forced to compromise with the “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy. Now, instead of a total prohibition of gays in the military, recruiters and commanders are prohibited from asking potential recruits and those under their command if they are homosexuals. Instead, it is acceptable for homosexuals to serve in the military so long as they keep their sexual orientation to themselves. Any admission or evidence of homosexual activity is grounds for a discharge.

Even some “gays” have a brain and know that male homosexuals are the #1 vector for infectious disease in the country. They might just have figured out that the young boys in the military might just be disease free and maybe a few, given the right drugs and enough alcohol, would allow a bit of rimming, felching and fecal consumption without the threat of a potentially deadly infection.

So, let me get this straight- you think a gay guy will go through basic training and/or officer training, then take on a 4-year commitment to do a potentially dangerous job in one of the least gay-friendly environments in the country for the upside of just maybe being able to talk a straight servicman into taking a walk on the wild side?

Seems like a lot of work. Why not just move to a military town and hang out in the bars and see if they can get lucky that way? Or, post an ad on Craiglist looking for servicemen who might want to try something different? And, this whole discussion ignores the question of why lesbians would want to join the military.

There are some very legitimate issues to be discussed regarding allowing openly gay servicemen. But, the fear that a significant number of gay guys would join in an attempt to get access to sex is fanciful.

“He was in both Desert Storms and he was a good man.”

Many gays have served honorably.

I ain't 18, but I still keep that avenue open for consideration.

Exactly. How it would impact unit cohesion and morale is something that reasonable people can discuss. These fantasies about gay men signing up to get easy men, on the other hand, are laughable.

I agree. Mass steorotyping of motives is so juvenile.

If you're looking for sex, you tend to go to places where the odds are good of finding someone likeminded. As a straight guy, I've never hung out in lesbian bars, since I knew my chances there were not good. I imagine a military setting would be equivalent for the average gay guy.

Not every gay person are like the ones in Queer Eye for the Straight guy. Most gay people I have talked to hate how they are portrayed on tv.

I happen to be surrounded by gay folks and I disagree with you. Everything they do has to do with their being gay and mostly what they talk about is gay sh!t. I've been smack dab in the middle of the gay community for quite some time, and I have a fairly good understanding of the psyche. True not all are like QESG, but most certainly are. The only complaint I've ever seen about gays on TV is when a straight guy plays a gay guy. THAT one gets their panties in a wad.

Further, most every gay I've come in contact with is a leftist useful idiot. Par example: homo dude next door gets a stop order work being done on HIS property from, who else, the government. All I hear is complaints about the government this, and the government that, and this is my property blah blah blah. All the while he's standing in front of his Obama lawn sign. Oh the irony. On the good side, the gay folks in my neighborhood do keep their houses and yards nice for what it's worth.

Then your opinion is your opinion. And based on nothing BUT your opinion. Which, I agree, you are free to have an opinion.

I happen to agree with FreedomFerret's opinion.

I really doubt they join to troll for sex.

I served with a few, several of whom I had no idea they were gay. We all lived in the same barracks, went about our duties and everybody was cool. To be honest, I don't think there was any policy against homosexuals back then because there was a draft.

Even tho today is not like it was 39 years ago, I have to believe the reasons for joining the military have remained the same.

Your opinion is your opinion, but it has more value with me than does his opinion.

I served more than twenty years before you and things/people were different. And my experiences are different, hence my opinion.

BTW, I sent him a private post explaining my position. No hard feelings.

Homosexuality is a moral deficiency, and was recognized as such until recently. It should not be allowed in the armed forces.

All of them, except for those units where females are not allowed.

If you have personal knowledge of this, get your ducks in order and go testify. I am certain Congressman Hunter wants witnesses like you: I’m serious.

Well, it might be interesting to comb through the records and see what turns up. We may find that introducing the sexual element onto the combat team is a bad idea, whether heterosexual or homosexual. You’ll find no incidences of hetereosexual harassment in the Ranger Regiment or the Navy’s Submarine Service because there are no females to harass.

Absolutely. Male only units don’t have any problems with harassment. The sex integrated units, in my experience, are MUCH less professional; the amount of time worrying about day care centers and pregnancy profiles is insane.
