Now that Barack Obama will be the 44th president of the United States and commander-in-chief, will he do away with the military’s “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy on gays?
Within days of becoming president, Bill Clinton sought to eliminate the long-standing prohibition against homosexuals enlisting into military service. His proposal met such stark opposition from within the ranks of the military that he was forced to compromise with the “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy. Now, instead of a total prohibition of gays in the military, recruiters and commanders are prohibited from asking potential recruits and those under their command if they are homosexuals. Instead, it is acceptable for homosexuals to serve in the military so long as they keep their sexual orientation to themselves. Any admission or evidence of homosexual activity is grounds for a discharge.

Consider it a case of Darwinism.
If Homosexuality were a natural state they would be able to procreate.
Since that cannot be done without medical intervention, they should die out within a generation.
Since that is not the case, they must fill their ranks by cultivating recruits from society. The most desireable sexual partners (regardless of preference) are young people (seen any granny porn?).
IMHO there is credible evidence that gays "introduce" candidates to the lifestyle. I'm sure some are willing but I am equally sure some are molested.
Then your opinion is your opinion. And based on nothing BUT your opinion. Which, I agree, you are free to have an opinion.
IOW, you are entitled to your opionion, you are not entitled to your own “facts”.
If a gay guy wants to have sex with tons of partners, he can just go to a gay bar or find a hookup on Craigslist. He doesn't need to go through basic training and take the risk of getting blown up by an IED.
I doubt anyone, straight or gay, joins the military to get laid. There are plenty of easy opportunities for free sex in civilian life.
But I did not present any facts. Simply my own opinion. It’d be a heck of a lot easier and less demanding and stressful to just move to San Fransisco and hit up the gay bars rather than join the military. I seriously cant thek of a more difficult and risky way to look for gay sex.
I know the military has plenty of gays in it. But they didn’t join first and foremost to get hooked up. That’s just a giant fanticiful leap of logic. Do they look for it while they’re there? Heck yea, just like everyone else.

During Army boot camp in 1966, when ‘some’ of the draftees (US) would cry and plot ways to get out, we enlisted guys (RA) would tell then to simply run up and kiss the DI good morning. They would have been out before they hit the floor. LOL
Soon, that will no longer work, the boot might actually become a lifer, or find love and run off with his new imaginary friend. I suppose the “leaning rest position” will now have a new meaning.
Later, some of us would refer to a patch we wore as the “Screaming Chicken”, I suppose that might also have new meaning, now.
I won’t try to second guess why a gay person might want to serve their country. Any man can love his country and be willing to fight and die for his country, but “open” gayness in the Military is not going to be a good thing.... for anyone.
Just wait until straights start getting charged with hate crimes in the Military because they wouldn’t refrain from teasing the “open” gays.
I wouldn’t enlist today, I think it would suck....

Even some “gays” have a brain and know that male homosexuals are the #1 vector for infectious disease in the country. They might just have figured out that the young boys in the military might just be disease free and maybe a few, given the right drugs and enough alcohol, would allow a bit of rimming, felching and fecal consumption without the threat of a potentially deadly infection.
18 is an arbitrary number. If you think that makes all boys men you ain’t living in reality. Suit yourself if it makes you feel better.
A gay acquaintance told me exactly this when I asked him why gay folks would want to join the military. He said “for all the cute and strong boys”.
Straight men go into the military knowing they'll be surrounded all the time by other straight men. Where do you get the notion that any straight folks (maybe some women) join the military for sex? Now, if you are a gay man and in the military you are constantly surrounded by exactly the thing that you desire - men. An analogy would be me joining the Swedish Bikini Team. I wouldn't be there for the tan that's for sure.

Of course they do. Just like many men like being around hot chicks.
However, that has nothing to do with gays joining the military. There are MANY places for the gay man to get hot guys that don’t require him to risk so much. I think odds are much better that the gays who join simply desire to defend their country.
Only two? Are there any heterosexual predators in the Navy? Probably many more than two, and probably more on a per capita basis. (Much easier for straight predators to hide in a military environment than for gay predators.) Maybe we should institute a don't ask, don't tell policy for straights. Or maybe establish some kind of uniform code of military justice that makes sexual predation illegal regardless of preference. In fact, I suspect such a thing already exists.
