Governor David Paterson (D-N.Y.) says hes leaning toward appointing Caroline Kennedy to the senate seat being vacated by Hillary Clintons ascension to the job of Secretary of State in the Obama Administration.
She does not have much legislative experience, which is a minus. Paterson admitted. But she has the Kennedy name and pedigree, not to mention the millions in personal wealth that can ensure her reelection.
We shouldnt underestimate these assets, Paterson continued. When it comes to elections, the Kennedy name is golden. Consider the case of her uncle Senator Ted Kennedy (D-Mass). Heres a bloated sot who left a young woman to drown in an ill-fated tryst 40 years ago. Yet, he is invincible come election day.
Besides, experience is over rated, Paterson concluded. Obama has practically no significant experience. Still, he easily defeated a war hero with decades of senatorial tenure. Im thinking that getting Ms. Kennedy into this seat will secure it for the Democratic Party for a generation.

Leaning or being PUSHED?
Satirically correct...
Wow, this is such a surprise.
In other news, scientists have concluded an exhaustive study that proves that water is still wet. However, Al Gore noted that "wet" water is a product of our out-of-control Global Warming crisis.
Now this comment belongs appropriately on a true KENNEDY thread!
Star Traveler,
Wow, were you actually there in person on the grassy knoll?

You were asking — “Wow, were you actually there in person on the grassy knoll?”
LOL..., I was just a kid then, barely able to figure things out... :-) It was a terrible day, that day, and I just remember the kinds of reactions that people had (the aftermath of it, when the news of his death got out) and then the three days where the whole country just stopped dead, and did almost nothing...
How many shots did you or your family hear?
Did you all stand in disbelief or run for it?
As another remembrance of those “days”, I also had to do the “Duck and Cover” drills in school too (you know, for the atomic blast...). I did them many times. And I remember the bomb shelters being displayed and sold at the Texas State Fair in Dallas, too...
I also remember having prayer in school, and having to memorize one of the Psalms from the Bible as part of a class assignment. I remember riding on the city busses with blacks in the back and whites in front (and I wondered why we were doing that...).
And, one more, I also remember the “New Math” being instituted in school...
Those were the days, my friend...
You were asking — “How many shots did you or your family hear?”
Well, although I’m “hearing” — my folks were deaf (they’re gone now...). I really didn’t know what was going on, and, of course, my folks didn’t either, as they aren’t “hearing”...

And then you asked — “Did you all stand in disbelief or run for it?”
It sounds so “ordinary” but we didn’t know what was going on... My folks, of course, wouldn’t have known, and as for me, it was out of my range of experience, being a young kid and not really understanding these things (at the time).
Things didn’t really come together (as to what happened) until a bit later when the news came out that the President was dead. Now, that was a momentous item, more so than actually being there. I also had to deliver a paper route that afternoon and so got hammered by people wanting to grab a paper from me (even buying it) but I couldn’t because I only had enough to deliver — and of course, that was the huge and big headline...
My folks were shocked about the events, as they found out later what had actually happened. It was beyond understanding, to have someone shoot the President...
So, sorry, no film, no pictures and didn’t know what the heck was going on...
But, I’ve been back many times since then and had stood over in all areas around the place, on the overpass where the railroad tracks are (on top), over by where a shadowy figure was seen behind a picket fence, and also to the area where a deaf person saw a person putting away what appeared to be a gun, over on the railroad tracks, and over by the grassy knoll and all around.
I actually think there was someone behind that picket fence, as that opens up into a railroad parking lot and where a bunch of railroad tracks are and where a railroad tower/building is, too. And then someone possibly above the overpass, again where the railroad tracks are, and seen by a deaf person who reported it, at the time.
Where else someone might be, I would have no idea. I do think it was several shooters, possibly two or three and not Oswald.
And since I started down “memory lane” ( LOL...) — I also remember watching Sputnik fly overhead, while I was in Tulsa, at my grandparents house. Everyone was outside in the early evening to see it come over, as the town was told, on the news, that it could be seen coming overhead.
And there it was, that little lit-up dot in the sky, traveling slowly across the sky... Of course, that was a bit before all this other stuff, being back in 1957. There was nothing else like that, up in the sky at that time...
