Nick Jr. Blocks Christmas

My son was playing on Nick Jr.'s Free Draw making a Christmas tree and when he went to write 'merry Christmas' The program would not allow him to type the word Christmas on his drawing. The error message was "Word Blocked" (also blocked where the words and phrases: Savior, Pope, Blessed virgin Mary, St. Nick, Hark the herald angels sing, Silent night, Away in the manger, no crib for his head, and even 'Obama is the AntiChrist', but I think it was because of the word Christ, not Obama, because I was able to write his name alone.)

I was able to type in muhammed, Hanukkah, Eid and Kwanzaa and anything pagan like Yule, Beltaine, Samhain etc. So it seems that only the Christian celebration of this season is unacceptable. I quickly sent emails to Nick Jr. and Viacom Inc. which owns the brand as well as TV Land, Paramount Pictures, CMT and many others.

I remember that one too. I don't need nor want anyone talking about gays to my child. I would like to keep her childhood as free as possible from such nastiness if I can. And what really irks me is that they don't tell the kiddies just what gay is....Nor do they tell them they can die from AIDS. Sure its ok to be gay but we aren't going to explain what it really means , just that 2 people of the same sex love each other...Hogwash! At least be honest even if it goes against the gay agenda. I am sure most 2nd graders would be horrified to know just what being gay means & how they do it. I can hear the kids going EWWWWW in my head.

That is just bizarre. Why would it work on some computers, but for so many of us, it did not work?

Future terroritst - yes, I agree. He actually threatened to cause harm. I wonder if the Nick folks are trying to be destructive or if they’re just naive and have no idea about what they’re doing.

At the very end when the brat is done talking you see Greenpeace & some other words on a wall. I never was into Greenpeace & if this is what they are about then I have no use for them either. That child already has problems & that is very sad IMHO. Or he is a wonderful actor. Which I doubt as he comes across like he is dead serious. He is one child I would never let near my Sassy. As for Nick, Sassy has out grown it & it isn’t the same as it used to be. I have no use for it either.

Greenpeace has taken “credit” for several acts of “green” violence, I believe. I will not support them. At one time I supported PETA, as I love animals and want to promote their well-being. However, PETA became so radical that I couldn’t continue to do that. They use terror tactics, just as this child threatens to do. I’m horrified that Nick promotes such thinking. It’s a tactic that works, I guess - indoctronate young children when they’re impressionable. Many parents obviously don’t notice or care.

I just tried it out, and it didn't ban any words for me. I even typed a couple profanities that would make a sailor blush.

I used to support PETA a longggggggg time ago. I do not support them at all. Or Greenpeace. I don’t know if Nick pulled that snotty child off their channels but I truly think children should not have been exposed to him. I love children but that one scares me.
