Most of you who read my articles know I am not a big TV or movie guy because the dim-bulbs that make this crap are so slanted to the left I wind up getting so pissed off at the hidden, oh-so subtle agenda, I can't enjoy the movie... I usually get so aggravated and everyone tells me I am overreacting... I say to them - "If I don't overreact, nobody will act at all!!!!"
Despite that, my son and I went to check out the premiere of the re-make of the 1951 film, The Day the Earth Stood Still. We both love action-packed movies and especially films about aliens from outer space, so we gave it a try. I purchased tickets online so I would not have to wait on line with the masses and have to listen to ill-mannered teenage punks carry on trying to impress each other while making themselves look like idiots....
We get there approximately 1/2 hr prior to show time and buy our $4 small soda and $5.00 box of milk-duds. I could buy a Fillet Mignon at the butcher shop for that!!! We then give our tickets to the troll-like mutant who rips them in half - no thank you - no enjoy the show - I had to ask her which theater the show was in!!!! She barely manages a grunt that sounded like a seven, to which I said, "pardon me?" I don't think she understood what that meant! I said louder, "Excuse me Miss, which theater?" She blurted 7 and pointed her chubby, cheese-doodle stained index finger to theater #7....

I’ll pass, if I even hear a film has a smidgen of an environmental message I back off big time.
This may even be one of those rare films that when the DVD comes out months later I will pass it up as well.
I will go rent the movie "Sands of Iwo Jima" instead
Will Smith's son. Probably not much of an acting stretch, either. Glad to see nepotism is alive and well. Not only does Klaatu realize we can change at the end, he also makes sure we do it 1700s pre Indusrial Revolution style.....an Eco-terrorists wet dream.
For me, it depends on the special effects, since I'm fairly propaganda-proof. I enjoyed "The Day After Tomorrow" on TV, even though the environmental message is way over the top.
When the movie tanks, I’m sure they’ll blame the economy.
This past weekend, we went to see Slumdog Millionaire, about a young man who ends up on the Hindi version of the television show "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?", trying to win Rs 20,000,000 (about a half-million dollars). It deals with his difficult life, coming up from the Bombay slums, and his search for his childhood love.
Very good, interesting movie. Try it next time.
I've never had a problem with youth questioning authority, especially illegitimate authority that exists only for authority's sake (feel good crap like zero tolerance policies are a good start).
I realize they weren't exactly youth, but our Founding Fathers recognized the value in questioning, and rebelling against, the authority lorded over them.
Watched it on OV guide. The kid of the lib mother is about as disrespectful as they get. Calls his mother by her first name. You never see the pres. The good hearted libs want to negotiate and understand as everything is being destroyed. Special effects? 2 stars out of 5. Kevin whatshisface is about as emotional as a brick. Ugh. This movie is disrespectful to the original. About as bad as the remake of “Invasion of the Body Snatchers”.
Slumdog’s on our schedule for the weekend - great reviews and word of mouth from friends who have seen it.
“Not only does Klaatu realize we can change at the end, he also makes sure we do it 1700s pre Indusrial Revolution style....”
Where are the parents of all these ignorant earth-worshiping children? They certainly should take away their cars, iPhones, iPods, and everything else beside the bare nutrition and clothing and shelter that was the norm in the 1700s. Let’s see how happy these spoiled enviro-nazis would be, as they learn that when one lives off the land, one realizes that Mother Nature can be a real bitch. Just ask any kid whose father was a farmer...
[Where are the parents of all these ignorant earth-worshiping children?]
I would guess they are pro earth worship or just plain ignorant new age liberals.
So the message is we must CHANGE if there is any HOPE at all.
Oh...the Aliens land in NYC instead of DC. Seems like NYC is getting attacked more in movies these days.
What I loved was how much the intergalactic alien with a robot-esque master was a Luddite.
Forget the electronics. I’d like to see one of these outdoor naturalists go without Gore-Tex in their clothes.
I was dragged to this movie Saturday afternoon by my nephew [a promise]
In a huge theater there were only @35 people there.
The movie was so boring - all the nifty special effects were in the trailers - no more to be had except you found out what was destroying stuff.(Big let down)
Within hours the movie was free on the internet on watch-movies.net.
I loved that movie. The effects were incredible and the story was hilarious. I thought it was a comedy. First rate hysteria and melodrama.
All of the lib messages are meant to pacify, confuse and disarm Americans. The messages are never meant for themselves. For instance,, do libs ever care to discuss or negotiate with conservatives? No,, they just want to destroy them. Also,,, another blatant hypocritical message in this movie,,, the earth's technology and industrialization is destroying the planet. Yet,, what is the response from the aliens??? Build a big technologically advanced robot and send it to earth, use superior weapons made possible by their own industry and technology,, and kill all the humans!! Hilarious!!
