Here’s what I have:

After a year living in Seattle, her family moved to Mercer Island, Washington, in 1956 so 13-year old Ann could attend the Mercer Island High School that had just opened. At the school she was on the debate team and graduated in 1960.

Her family moved to Hawaii and Ann enrolled in the University of Hawaii at Manoa for the fall semester (1960). She studied anthropology.

I don't believe anyone knows the true story, especially Obama.

The truth died with Madeline Dunham. She would have known. Maybe that's why Michelle was so excited after Obama threw grandma's ashes into the ocean, she jumped up on Obama, legs first.

The first sentence of Paragraph (b) of that same statute is the one of concern:

(b) Proof of legal residency shall be submitted to the director of health in any manner that the director shall deem appropriate.

Utility bills, checking accounts, leases, rent payments, property tax receipts, income tax forms, etc, were all that was needed to establish residency.

And, don't forget that grandparents could also register a late birth.

In studying some of thes information (copies of directories in that time period) regarding Stanley Obama living in Seattle with Bernice Dunham living nearby... Not to mention the visit with the newborn with her friend (printed in newspapers in his election of her not being able to change diapers) it is ‘proven’ she was in Seattle with a newborn. It would seem that this fits the possible scenario of her coming back from Kenya through Seattle to Hawaii.

It also fits another scenario of Stanley giving birth in British Columbia. Now I have done some research and in British Columbia, they were having a massive movement for female doctors in the maternity areas (will gather links later). It is also has been hinted that alot of these services (for practice and also to show their competance in this area) very inexpensive costs for childbirth as an incentative for women to show that female doctors and midwives were just as competant as men in this field.

I was wondering if someone could help in my research on this possibility of Stanley staying near a relative in Seattle and having the baby in British Columbia for the inexpensive costs, along with the recent laws (1957?) against segregation for black mothers (not Stanley) and black children (Obama). It would almost make sense that she would have had him there as well been in Seattle shortly after birth.

Also, in the 50’s and 60’s, women and children were kept in the hospital for a week or more, unlike now when it is a day or two. That would explain the child being newborn but not like immediately out of the hospital. It would also explain the week delay in the birth announcment being placed in the paper if the grandparents DIDN’t put it there.

Can anyone help? I will continue my investigation.

The birth announcement in Hawaii really doesn’t mean anything as it could have been placed by the grandparents for the friends of Barack and Stanley to know their child had been born. Or as I said, Stanley up on return to Hawaii.

Someone posted a bio of Geithner, the treasury secretary, and low and behold, his father was a Ford Foundation contemporary of Stanley Ann, and is known to have worked with her personally, at least once. Geithner’s birthdate is the same month and year as Obama’s, separated by less than two weeks, I think.

I've made the same observation.

There is an anecdote in "Dreams...," -- "...after college, he once fell in love with a white woman, only to push her away when he concluded he would have to assimilate into her world, not the other way around."

That doesn't necessarily mean the "white woman" was a woman, or that it ever happened. Obama admits in the introduction of "Dreams.." he uses pseudonyms, composite characters, approximated dialogue and events out of chronological order.

It's a novel, not an autobiography.

Fred, short of getting a DNA sample from Obama Jr, and cross-referencing that with exhumed DNA from Obama Sr who died in 1982, or cross-referencing Obama Jr’s DNA with a blood-relative of Obama Sr, there’s no way of knowing for sure.

BUT we DO have prima facie evidence (the 1964 divorce decree) where Ann states on page 3 that Barack Hussein Obama II was born on Aug 4, 1961, and that Obama Sr is the father. BTW, no birthplace is mentioned. When you have only hearsay, use the prima facie to make your point...

There are elements of questionability of Ann’s credibility on the 1980 divorce decree about her and Maya’s citizenship, as well.

If you can prove that RELATED prima facie evidence wrong or highly questionable in a court of law, then you build a case to open up the vault at the Office of Vital Statistics in Hawaii to find out the rest of the story...

I've always been puzzled by this account:

A newspaper story on the day he left, June 22, said Obama planned a several-weeks grand tour of Mainland universities before he arrived at Harvard to study economics on a graduate faculty fellowship. The story did not mention that he had a wife and an infant son.

Many years later, Barack Jr., then in high school, found a clipping of the article in a family stash of birth certificates and old vaccination forms. Why wasn't his name there, or his mother's? He wondered, he later wrote, "whether the omission caused a fight between my parents."

On his way east, Obama stopped in San Francisco and went to dinner at the Blue Fox in the financial district with Hal Abercrombie, who had moved to the city with his wife, Shirley. Abercrombie would never forget that dinner; he thought it showed the worst side of his old friend, a combination of anger and arrogance that frightened him.

Shirley was a blonde with a high bouffant hairdo, and when she showed up at the side of Hal and Barack, the maitre d' took them to the most obscure table in the restaurant. Obama interpreted this as a racial slight. When the waiter arrived, Obama tore into him, shouting that he was an important person on his way to Harvard and would not tolerate such treatment, Abercrombie recalled.

"He was berating the guy and condescending every time the waiter came to our table. There was a superiority and an arrogance about it that I didn't like."

Tells me Obama knows what is on his birth certificate and why he's fighting its release.

After Ann finished the first term at UH at Manoa the next widely reported sighting of her is with a newborn Jr on Mercer Island. We know she was staying with a friend of her mother but do not know the woman’s name. We also know she did not return to Hawaii as some have thought because of her name appearing in the 1961 City Directory. I believe she was sent away by her parents before she gave birth to avoid the embarrassment of her situation but wanting to protect their daughter’s “honor” and legitimize the situation they registered the birth in Hawaii which generated the birth announcement in the papers.(Once the baby was born all it would take was a phone call to her parents) We know that of all the graduate students that hung around with Obama Sr the only one who claims to have known both Ann and Obama Sr is Neil Abercrombie.Neil may have known Ann more after she returned to Hawaii in 1963 and lived near where Neil was living. Hal Abercrombie, Pake Zane and Arnie Nachmanoff do not mention knowing Ann at all. We have also seen photos of Obama Sr at parties in 1961 and Ann is not in attendance. We have been told that Ann and Obama Sr were in the same Russian language class which had a total of 20 students in it and yet we have never seen any testimony from any of the other 18 students in the class. When journalists began writing articles, they interviewed a student who had been in the Russian language class a few years later. The other 18 students who were in the same class as Ann and Obama Sr cannot all be dead.

The only video was the edited Susan Blake interview which was on Youtube for a time but has since been removed. I believe Beckwith has a copy at Obama Files. There has never been a photo etc released of Ann with an infant.

Malcolm X was never in Seattle. I read the story at AtlasShrugged blog and decided I better find out if there was a possibility of Ann and Malcolm X ever having met. I searched for quite awhile until I came across the FBI files released under FOIA. The FBI kept very close tabs on Malcolm X and I went through the files from 1958 through to early 1963. Malcolm X was never in Seattle and it was in 1962 that he was in L.A. The Washington mentioned in the FBI files is Washington D.C.

The scandal I am referring to is Ann becoming pregnant by a black man. Even in laid back Hawaii that would be a scandal and a reflection on her parents both who were starting new jobs. Easier to send her away before she begins to show and then perpetuate the story that she married but the marriage didn’t work out so poor Ann was left to raise a child on her own. Of course there would be no scandal if she had not become pregnant.

Actually Ann graduated with a B.A. in math per the records from UH at Manoa. When she returned to UH at Manoa in 1972 she began to take the courses to receive both her Master’s and Phd in Anthropology. Her initial degree was in Math.

Ann is on Mercer Island in August 1961 but we don’t know the age of Jr, we do know she didn’t know how to change diapers and Susan Blake described Jr as “very new and very pink”.According to that the melanin was not apparent yet, but later on Susan contradicts herself by mentioning that after Ann left, Susan looked at her mother and her mother looked at Susan and both agreed that if anyone could handle having a biracial baby it was Ann. Approximately two weeks later per the Leahy excerpt she was visited at her mother’s friend’s home by Maxine Box.
I also believe she became pregnant election night in 1960 and Jr was the result of a celebration which got carried away.
The closest we have to when Ann and Jr returned to HI is the housing article which appeared in “The Honolulu Advertiser” mentioning that Madelyn and Stanley were living at apt 110 1427 Alexander St in 1963. I believe they rented the apartment in their names for Ann and Jr to live in once she returned to HI with Jr. When she registered for classes in 1963 her address given is the one where the Dunhams had lived since they arrived in HI (2277 Kamehameha Ave.)

She didn’t come back to Seattle alone she had Jr with her and they remained in Seattle. We do have the testimony of a woman who babysat Jr while Ann was living in the apartment on Capitol Hill.
