Years ago NBC did a couple of hour-long documentaries covering the historical events of various decades early in the 1900's. The one they did on "Life in the Thirties" ended with a poignant section on the World's Fair in New York in 1940, with film of the various attractions of the fair and people innocently enjoying them, set to a gorgeous Robert Russell Bennett arrangement of "September Song" ("It's a long long way from May to September" etc). The gist of the narration by Alexander Scourby was the comparison of the lightheartedness the country was finally experiencing as the Great Depression eased somewhat with the terrible and tragic circumstances it would be experiencing just around the corner for the next five years as WWII unfolded...lately I've been mumbling to myself one evocative line from that narration.....

"Through the fun and fantasy of the fair, something whispers - 'it is later than you think'".........

Removal of His restraining Spirit is a reference to the rapture, which I would say is not very far off. Before that occurs, there are just a few other key prophecies yet to be fulfilled, one of which I believe we will see happen next year. See Ezekiel 38.

As for God deserting us, I share your fear and anger at America for what it has done... but be careful not to view the entire nation through the prism of the media. Don't forget that in THE most liberal and perverse state of the union, voters in California struck down Gay marriage... also in Florida. Conservatism / Faith based values did not lose... Obama had to lie and cheat about his positions to win the election. There is no question in my mind that this nation will suffer... but it's not over. God always provides an escape. Yes... there is much evil here, but there is much more good. The evil is just getting more attention. Sodom and Gamora was 99.9 % wicked.

We also have a tendency to focus on our nation as if it were the center of God's universe... it is not... Israel is.

Do you think for a moment that God is going to allow Obama to compromise Israel's security? Personally, I think God has chosen Obama for us for 2 reasons... 1 to wake our lazy butts up, and 2 as an act of protection from what will occur in the middle east next year. I don't think He wants us anywhere around when He reveals to the world His sovereignty and protection over Israel.

God has not deserted us... He is using us. Pride comes before a fall, and I've never seen the left this proud and emboldened before.
