The word among GOP insiders here in Georgia is that Newt Gingrich is considering throwing his name in the hat to be the next Chairman for the RNC....

He was damaged by himself. You don’t go in on faith and morals and then prove to be unfaithful and immoral. That’s what he did. You want to run just on issues, fine. The Conservative movement, though, is more than just about economic issues, or social justice issues. At it’s core it is a movement backed by a simple concept: In God We Trust. That comes with some baggage I’ll gladly carry. And I will work to elect any one willing to carry that baggage to Washington. Those who subvert it by their egos ought to move aside. It’s not like Gingrich fell once; he did this several times. V’s wife.
With all due respect, IMO “Uncle Newt” is partly to blame for the downfall of the Republican party - irresponsible financial behavior and lax morals do not engender the complete confidence we need in a revamped party.
BTW, as an addendum to my last reply, NO MORE FRIGGIN’ RINOS!!! They are a pox on our party - milqetoast, wannabe Republicrats are EXACTLY what this party DOES NOT NEED!!!
bump. This is a small step in the right direction.
Do it Newt!!!!
Newt has *never* struck me as a reach-across-the-aisle kind of guy...
You’re right. He would have a difficult time running for office but this is perfect for him.
Only if he recants than that go Newt go.
My thoughts exactly.
“Newt is a global warming wacko RINO. Hes the last guy we need.”
He also is a big fan of working with Hillary, he’s RINO.
Wasn’t Rove the one that came up with ‘compassionate conservatism?” That worked out pretty good.
So, does this group recruit candidates? If so, would you attempt to defeat party-selected candidates in a primary if the party choice is not acceptable?
My thoughts exactly. He is a great communicator, but not true to his words in many ways. As an advisor, maybe, but as the chair, NO.
New blood is needed. . . Jindal would fit the bill as RNC chair better than as a candidate IMO.
As far as Rove goes. . . let’s be done with him finally. Out of touch.
Um, that would also be the same Newt that's a member in good standing of the GLOBALIST cabal known as The Council on Foreign Relations where he shares membership with Joe Biden, BOTH Clintons, Jimmy Carter and George Soros? The same NEWT that watched in 1994 as the Assault WEeapons /magazine BAN made it's way through the Congress and the Senate and did NOT ONE THING to stop or even hinder it's passage? I agree, no sale.
Newt has long decried the lack of a backbone of steel in the RNC and the sad fact the leadership of the Republican Party had abandoned its core principles.
If you get an opportunity, go to Mark Levin's website and listen to the audio of the 1964 speech Ronald Reagan made on behalf of Barry Goldwater...it's almost as though history has sadly repeated itself.
I LIKE IT!
NEWT has been something of a guiding light since 9-11, just to start from a convenient point in his afterlife as a public servant. He has shown himself to be the kind of straight-talker John McCain thinks he is. He is EXACTLY who is needed to rally around for a reborn Conservatism that rises from the ashes of an irrelevant RINO Republican party.
Excellent.
BTTT
Jezebelle is the one advocating Rove, not me.
I already emailed Newt asking him to go for it.
