Finally, a conservative that can stand up to the liberals and give it back to them takes the lead. Can you imagine if Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, and Tom Delay would team up! Now that would be a dream team!

No, a thousand times no.
This is the guy that sits down with Pelosi pushing the globull warming crap.

His personal life will always be a distraction.

He was great for the contract with America, since then, nothing.

Newt is currently out for Newt, need fresh blood.

Let him hang out with Algore and save the world.

All or nothing. You should be thankful you didn’t have a Rat.

He only has so much to work with.

And on our own we gave ourselves Gray Davis.

Arnie isn’t the best, but considering what he has to work with and whom he’s married to, I don’t think he’s all that bad. Yeah, I’d rather have McClintock, but we’re not going to get him. We tried.

He’s talking about chairing the RNC, not running for President. He’s a leader with vision that we are sorely lacking.

Me too. This is exactly who I thought of last night. He would be awesome as RNC chair and could help lay out a strategy to retake Congress by 2010.

Newt can work behind the scenes

I agree -- the best place 'behind the scenes' for Newt, would be RNC Chairman. if you don't think that is 'behind the scenes', who is the current Chairman?

He has got a big mouth that could keep him in trouble. but, he is one of the few people who genuinely ha talent and a passion for politics and policy and the creativity to reinvent the party.I really think it should be a co-chairmanship with Rudy. that way we would really have talent and we could connect the traditional conservative with the urban-suburban conservative that we need to create. If any body here thinks that we can just continue without connecting with the later just look at the elections where we lost everything north of the Ohio and east of the Missouri. We need a new fusion and a new face.

Rove gave us Schwarzenegger.

AMEN! Not to mention the other little gifts Rove has given us. We understand his election tactics and grassroots management now, couple that traditional direct marketing strategy with a James Carville candidate brand-building strategy, and you've got a winning campaign. (BTW, neither of which used by McCain's team.)

I won’t flame you about that. I just worry that Newt is still not tough enough. I would prefer someone along the lines of a Marc Racicot.

For What its worth - Newts explanation:

The Gingrich-Pelosi Climate Change Ad: Why I Took Part

"Many of you have written to me to ask why I recently taped an advertisement with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for The Alliance for Climate Protection, a group founded by former Vice President Al Gore.

I completely understand why many of you would have questions about this, so I want to take this opportunity to explain my reasons. First of all, I want to be clear: I don't think that we have conclusive proof of global warming. And I don't think we have conclusive proof that humans are at the center of it.

But here's what we do know. There is an important debate going on right now over the right energy policy, the right environmental policy, and making sure we do the right things for our future and the future of our children and grandchildren. Conservatives are missing from this debate, and I think that's a mistake. When it comes to preserving our environment for future generations, we can't have a slogan of "Just yell no!"

I have a different view. I think it's important to be on the stage, to engage in the debate, and to communicate our position clearly. There is a big difference between left-wing environmentalism that wants higher taxes, bigger government., more bureaucracy, more regulation, more red tape, and more litigation and a Green Conservatism that wants to use science, technology, innovation, entrepreneurs, and prizes to find a way to creatively invent the kind of environmental future we all want to live in. Unless we start making the case for the latter, we're going to get the former. That's why I took part in the ad."
