Now THAT would be AWESOME! I really love Newt and I wish that Karl Rove would get back in there also. YES ON NEWT-- NOOOOOOOOO ON ROVE
Who do you think was responsible for influencing W on the illegal alien shamnest proposal and working with the DemoRats?
Everyone has had Rove on their talking head programs and not ONCE did he suggest that what the Republican Party needs to do now, is a clean sweep of all RINO's--BECAUSE HE IS A BIG-TIME ONE HIMSELF!!!!

Newt is at his best when the Reps are out of power and he’s throwing bombs at the Dems. Now would be a good time.

Bullshite.
He's a carnival barker.
He's played, overplayed, in fact.

What we desperately need are people who can ARTICULATE AND EXPLAIN Conservative values. Few can do that better than Newt. And, despite the caterwauling currently under way in the RINO McCain campaign, Sarah Palin is pretty darned good at that as well.

"Great, Ive met him, and he could do some good..Notwithstanding the number of people here on FR that would (and have) trash him in a heartbeat..." I've met him too. He was my Representative when I lived in Georgia. Having said, that most of what you call "trashing" is based on his past personal life which is pretty indefensible. He would never get the nomination as a presidential candidate but he could do us WORLDS of good running the RNC!

I agree with you! Makes me wonder when people don’t want Newt who is a great spokesman for Conservatives or Sarah Palin who articulated what a lot of us believe.
Looks like a couple of campaigns are having trouble realizing that there has been a new day that has dawned and are still jockeying for position in the GOP. What they don’t seem to get is that a lot of us don’t want ANYONE who ran in the GOP primary in 2008.
My first choice didn’t run in 2008 because he got taken out in the VA Senate race and now VA has elected another Dem although Warner might as well been a Dem.

He’ll be a lightining rod. In a good way and bad.
It may be better to go with an “unknown” so that the same tired attacks don’t get brought up again.
“The Gingrich Who Stole Christmas...”
“Contract on America”
blah blah blah.

And I think he is very articulate in espousing conservativism (although I think he now drinks from the Global Climate Change koolaid tub).

RUN, NEWT, RUN!
Newt was the only Republican in the entire campaign who had solid, workable solutions for every campaign issue.
To: eeevil conservative
Newt Considers a Run for RNC Chairman I love Newt, but it was only a couple months ago that Newt was sitting on the couch with Nancy Pelosi telling us that we had to take action on the "global warming".
Newt can work behind the scenes, but there must be new young conservative leaders that won't surrender to Nancy Pelosi.
