What we've seen has been proved fraudulent. But what's the reason (other than Obama's currently running for president. Obama doesn't know where he was born from memory, only his mother (maybe his father and relatives) and grandparents would know that and would have passed it on to him. It may be the case that there is no CoLB from the state of Hawaii at all or one was created ex post facto listing a different name and listing 'Father....unknown". His original birth certificate may a have been sealed by the court when he was adopted by Soeretoro, remaining under seal to this day. But let's look at things we know instead of speculating.

There were only two newspapers in Honolulu at the time, the Honolulu Advertiser and the Star Bulletin. They would have published the birth announcement and the record would have been archived.

His maternal grandmother was an Bank of Hawaii employee who later rose to the position of vice president and in her duties as a finance officer of a bank knew the importance of verification of identity, employment and credit history of clients. When her daughter came home to Hawaii with a bun in the oven....or a kid in tow, Grandma would know what documentation of birth was necessary and how it could be obtained.

Point is .....Grandma knows. And this all could be easily cleared up with the original birth certificate and the newspaper's Births archive (which Grandma would have clipped and saved).
