I'm curious about your comment. My feeling is that Ronald Reagan was instrumental in causing the Soviet Empire to break apart. Good news for all, in my opinion. Afterwards, we got the new Russian state which, it seems to me, still retains a lot of power and a strong imperialist urge.

I think Russia today is probably less communist than the Soviet Union was 20 years ago, but in terms of power politics, I think the Russian threat is not much different than the Soviet threat.

Do you see this differently?

OF course I do. Instead of cultivating Russia after its horror show under the Soviet Commies we send left wing zombies during Clinton’s regime and undermine its fledgling market economy and then we shove her around during the Bush era.

I guess we would rather do “business” with the Chicoms and Saudis.
