McCain cuts deal with delegates to hand WV victory to Huckabee

Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee enjoys the first victory on Super Tuesday for the Republicans as he takes all 18 delegates in the state of West Virginia, winning 52% of the vote, although rumors abound regarding the McCain campaign's possible instruction to their delegates to switch to his side.

Mitt Romney finished second with 47% of the vote, followed by McCain at 1%.

Rumors are circulating that the McCain campaign instructed their delegates to defect over to Mike Huckabee's side as to avoid a Romney victory. Nationally, McCain is significantly ahead of Huckabee and can afford giving the state's 18 delegates to Huckabee, but certainly not to Romney, who was originally in the lead when polling began in West Virginia by a wide margin and trails McCain nationally by only 17 delegates.

Bigotry is the reason why Romney can’t close the deal??

Riiiiightttt...

And I guess being pro choice, pro gay marriage, allowing sanctuary cities, passing government run health care, and raising taxes/fees by millions, leaving your state with a 200 million dollar deficit didnt have anything to do with it.....

Cmon man..Romney’s record is so absymally clear that its ridiculous...

I’ve already voted for him, just hours ago. McCain’s looking ALOT like the other two liberals now.

At this rate, I’ll be another of the conservatives voting for obamanation of islam come November!

I keep thinking...if I do that, I’d harm the troops...and then I remember I’ll BE one of the troops later this year if things go well for me...(prior AF, now perhaps going back after 15 years out, was a medic but now a nurse.)

McCain looks like he’d do virtually ANYTHING to get the nomination now, and therefore ANYTHING to use the US troops to do almost anything to his advantage as well!

Bad as I hate to say I was wrong and Rush and Ann Coulter were right...it’s looking ALOT like it’s that way today to me!

McCain has learned well from his master, H. Clinton. The dark side is strong in this one.

Not a McCain fan, but I can't fault the guy for throwing some sharp elbows in a caucus.

Don't we want our nominee to be a little scrappy? I know I do.

“Huckabee didn’t outsmart anyone.
He won.”

No McCain won. McCain threw Huckster a hubcap off of Romney’s car. A hubcap is what the Hucbabee supporters will get too...worth about 6.99

Must be nice to not be hampered by deep thinking..you worry about that 50 cents and I'll do the heavy lifting by worrying about the Islamic terrorists. McCain will kick their asses....then we can go back to your small concerns.

Don’t post to me. If you’re what it means to be Republican, then I’m through with the Republican Party.

The story of the fine Huckabee and the very fine Wayne Dumond.

For the Huckster never met a criminal with enough money to buy a pardon.

Umm..Gore was the one whining..not Bush.. or do you not remember Sore/Loserman....

Florida's Supreme Court would have given the state to Gore and it would have been legal if Bush team hadn't pointed out the shenanigans to the US supreme Court. Sometimes it's good to point out these shady deals.

Romney is in the race seriously. Huck is not. He’s been bought off and he allowed himself to be bought off. He cares more about himself than his country and his party I resent Huck far more than McCain in this scenario. This is destructive behavior and if you can’t see the difference, I pity you.

I heard about this on the radio.

I guess that I simply do not understand the caucus method. Is it different in WV than how it is done in Iowa? It seems different perhaps because of what I heard while in the car.

It’s coming down from the head honchos of the GOP. I have been getting e-mails asking me to support McCain. I assure you I did not solicit them. The only place they could have come from would be the GOP. No other candidate has sent me e-mails. That’s probably why Hunter threw his support to McCain. The GOP thinks McCain can beat Hillary.

they see this as a way to get their candidate the nomination...

Yep, no difference between McCain supporters and Clinton supporters.

Huckabee is the one who is prostituting himself. He is clearly for sale. He does not care about his party or his country.

I don’t know if I’m more disappointed in McCain for all the OBVIOUS reasons, or the hypocrat Huckleberry for whining about Romney encouraging him to quit and thus the “voter suppression” BS, and then turns around and does this?

WHAT A HYPOCRAT FRAUD!

Romeny may well be a RINO, but these two creeps are liberal hypocrat SCUM!

“Not a McCain fan, but I can’t fault the guy for throwing some sharp elbows in a caucus.”

Seems the only elbows he throws are at conservatives. He’ll be throwng elbows in November but he won’t have any cornermen.

I’m not sure they call it a caucus, but in any event, it’s more of a state party convention.

It seems to operate a lot like the Iowa Straw Poll last August.
