Rudy Giuliani draws large poll numbers across the country and across the board. Although their combined RINO quotient is high and could spawn a third-party revolt if they got nominated, John McCain and Giuliani would be a dream team. That is, if one of these two egomaniacs could be persuaded to take the VP slot on the 2008 Republican ticket!
Despite his frankly left-wing takes on many social issues, I like his support of school vouchers as this product of parochial schools does the right thing to enable kids to escape dead-end public education, over-funded and under-delivering because of huge administrative costs and regressive union policies.
And this veteran of 9/11 will not flake out like the Democrats consistently do concerning national security. The only problem I have with Rudy is that Chris Mathews is so high on him! Probably that parochial school old-boy network!
McCaptain still thinks he is General Patton.

Do you really know much about McLame and Rudy?
Just a wee helpful hint...................neither man would EVER take the V.P. spot for the other and McQueeg has about as much chance of winning the '08 GOP presidential primary, as Hillary Clinton has.
Rudy is NOT a RINO and only ONE supposed New Yorker, a NEWBIE, has called him that on FR.
bttt
To answer your supercilious question: I've been national staff in three presidential campaigns and many smaller ones. Am very acquainted with both McCain and Rudy. Also worked for three TV networks. And that is the reason McCain and Giuliani might be the only possibility, since working for TV makes one believe that a conservative no longer has a chance, unless he is another Reagan running against a total lame-o like Carter. Reagan had had the previous media exposure to surmount the MSM bias toward Carter. This will not happen to Mitt Romney, a person who otherwise I think much better than the "dream ticket" members.
Also, reading skills: The third sentence in the first paragraph does address the VP problem.
Your CV may, in your own mind, make you feel sure that your opinions are correct, but they aren't.
And FWIW there are many people here on FR who have been extremely active in politics and have far better credentials, vis-a-vis "being in T.V."; not to mention much more. I suggest that you deflate that puffed up chest of yours, stop patting yourself on the back, and refrain from the hauteur that is evidenced in your reply to me.
And BTW, my reading comprehension skills are very good. :-)
Dream?
Or nightmare.
Rudy/Newt - I'll work up a slogan.

As of January it's the gang of 12.
Oh dear. Last I checked, a question can be supercilious. You sound a bit apodictic and a bit off base yourself. And how would you know how wide my credentials are in TV? And my other unmentioned credentials, how would you know about those? And your reading comprehension sure missed para 1 in my original post. A more subtle reading of my post than you seem capable of would discern that I'm not actually supporting the ticket, just suggesting it would win. Evidently that's not in your skill-set.
Pedantic and apodictic, you certainly have those bases covered. Plus what the psychologists like to call "projecting."
Golly gee, big old "I WAS IN T.V. AND WORKED IN POLITICS ON THE NATIONAL LEVEL", go try to impress someone else.
FYI....Mort Kondracki and Fred Barnes and Bill Krystol are all McCainiacs and really, really,REALLY "believe" that McLame is going to win the GOP presidential '08 primary too. That doesn't mean that he has a snowball's chance in Hell of doing so.
