We elect congressmen and congresswomen to represent our interests. We vote for self-described fiscal hawks who favor less government. But all we get is:
Integrity Matters
The moral lapses of the Clinton administration were, of course, distressing. We voted for self-described conservative representatives who claimed they would do better. But all we got was a never-ending chain of scandals ranging from sex crimes to bribe-taking to gambling promotion.
Each is driven by a combination of greed, power-lust, and arrogance. Of course, mistakes do happen. But even when individuals are caught red-handed, they refuse to take responsibility. All that results is finger pointing and excuses from congressmen hiding in rehabilitation centers. Misbehaving congressmen should be removedperiod. Are we supposed to look up the definition of is again?
Immigration Matters
We are a country of laws. If you dont like a law, change it. But a government that intentionally refuses to enforce select laws is weakening the whole rule of law and breaking its most sacred pledge to the governed.
Some employers are using illegal immigration to drive down wages and eliminate hard-working Americans from their payrolls. And of illegal immigrants gangs run roughshod over our communities, bringing with them:
Yet Congress and the White House repeatedly turn a blind eye in exchange for big business campaign donations and lobbying loot. The best theyve done is pass a lame fence bill that covers no more than 10% of the problem (and they arent even obligated to follow through on that much).....

Well I can't argue with this one.
Great essay. Scream it loudly. We're letting the MSM paint us into a corner. Just got off the James Dobson-crying thread (lurked it).
Do you really care what your next door neighbor does in his/her own spare time, so long as it doesn't harm anyone else?
Of course not. We're getting successfully stereotyped. It wasn't the Foley Dirty Trick that got us, either. It was a Republican Congress that let the "R" turn small.
Quoteth Pogo. Peace Be Upon Him.
We have time, thank goodness. We'll be back.
Ka Ching!
It's about the funding stupid.
Great post.
LOL!!
You and John would get along GREAT!
;-)
Thank you thank you!!
now I am mosying over to YOUR TREMENDOUS POST!
;-)
He's the lightning, you're the thunder.

If our guys - and I use the term loosely - had just done something about the illegals, they might still been in power... Great post, eeevil - thanks for the ping.
LOL!
I LOVE IT!
THANKS!
and AMEN!
the ton of lead that broke the camel's back!
So, um, when do you go to weekdays, or at least another hour?
should be going to 2 hours within 90 days!
CC is a very well-paced, machine-gun-style show.
But I have to ask a question: since you're based in Hotlanta, I couldn't help but notice you sound like, perhaps, a western New Yorker. Is it just me or my lying ears?
LOL!
I was born in PA...just south of New York...
heh, heh....
funny thing is that most everyone thinks I sound like I was born in New York....
unless they are from New York-- then they KNOW I am from near Philly!!
strange....
I talk a bit southern sometimes too...LOL!
depends on how many drinks I have....
;-)
One of them being the fact they sat back and let our side do the complaining of Republicans for them
Don't get my wrong .. I agree our party needs to get their act together ..
Yes, the spending is getting out of control .. which is one reason why dems would tack on $$$ amendments to Bills that had nothing to do with the Bill ...
The immigration issue needed to be fixed .. but having Pat Buchanan and others go on TV & radio and make comments like we should round them all up and throw them out at once .. only scares people into the opposite direction
There was also a reason Harry Reid would quote Michael Savage on the Senate Floor
We have to realize that the Dems managed to get their act together and out smarted us
They knew to stick together even though most of their candidates were running as conservatives
The NOW hags and NARL knew to shut their traps during the election process while the likes of Casey, jr went around claiming he was pro-life
Notice how we didn't hear the women in Hollywood screaming at rallies about how Bob Casey was going to rape women if he was elected
The Dems also knew to keep their traps shuts or quickly file amendments to their tax/expense forms whenever a scandal of theirs started to brew
They also knew how to run and win this campaign on sound bits .. which is why they followed candidates around with camcorders
So yes, I agree that our party did lose their way from the promises they made in 94 and that needs to be corrected
But we also need to think outside of the box .. for if we don't .. we are bound to get stuck in that box
Oh, thank the Lord.
You don't sound like Philly/South Jersey: you sound more New York-ish. Now The Great One definitely augurs Philadelphia.
Parents from the Big Apple, perhaps? That's where most of our speech patterns come from.
If I talked to you, I'd sound slower and mumbling. Welcome to the West Coast, which is akin to something more like, say, Chicago - assuming you'd find an English speaker.
When I visited Louisville for a week they said, "you sound NORTHERN" - which, while not disparaging, was still slightly discomforting, particularly because, as you know, women down south are about 100-degrees Fahrenheit, as opposed to the 92-and-change we get up here.
The revision of Bankruptcy Laws as well is a prime cause. It was a pure giveaway - written by the credit card issuers, the credit counselors, and predatory lenders. Then, the perceived connection to Big Oil (even if not true) and higher gas prices. And then ineptness during Katrina - well, perceived ineptness.
All of these things, plus the war made unpopular by the MSM - added up to certain disaster.
My problem with all of the above? Utterly pathetic attempts by the President, his Administration, and leaders of the House and Senate to beat back the MSM and DemocRAT attacks. If they don't learn how to fight back, we will stay in the Minority for a long long time. To hell with decorum. They need to go back to "What would Teddy Roosevelt do?" and "What would Ronald Reagan do?". Conservatives are pissed because the Republicrats kept giving in, spending money left and right on stupid initiatives, and growing government by obscene amounts.
Who knew there was no debt during Reagan.
He knew how to stand up to the commies and also knew how to comfort us when we needed it (remind you of anyone?)
But truth be told .. he wouldn't have survived in today's political atmosphere
