LOL!
I was born in PA...just south of New York...
heh, heh....
funny thing is that most everyone thinks I sound like I was born in New York....
unless they are from New York-- then they KNOW I am from near Philly!!
strange....
I talk a bit southern sometimes too...LOL!
depends on how many drinks I have....
;-)
Oh, thank the Lord.
You don't sound like Philly/South Jersey: you sound more New York-ish. Now The Great One definitely augurs Philadelphia.
Parents from the Big Apple, perhaps? That's where most of our speech patterns come from.
If I talked to you, I'd sound slower and mumbling. Welcome to the West Coast, which is akin to something more like, say, Chicago - assuming you'd find an English speaker.
When I visited Louisville for a week they said, "you sound NORTHERN" - which, while not disparaging, was still slightly discomforting, particularly because, as you know, women down south are about 100-degrees Fahrenheit, as opposed to the 92-and-change we get up here.
