Dear Rush:
Pardon my French, but youre full of s***! As I listened to your show last week, you chose to criticize and attack conservative Americans like myself who feel the Republican Party does not deserve to win in November. Rush, since when did you become such a shill for the GOP? Choosing the party over the base is a very disappointing move to this long time listener. Im very disappointed in you, Rush Limbaugh, youve lost touch with the reality that is life for the common man in America. I heartily recommend you take pause and reconsider your programming strategy. Do you really want to attack those of us on the front lines versus liberalism? Rush, you yourself have become one of the elite of our society. Perhaps I need to give you some perspective, so you can better understand our anger, or at least mine.

So many of you folks keep talking about "warts" and "not 100%" and "not totally acceptable".
I have never talked about that. I don't vote for liberals, or criminals, ever.
I don't know why that is so difficult to understand. I have posted it so many timers my fingers are tired and yet, it gets ignored. Oh well.

If you don't vote at all and get evil, you deserve it, too.
Unless two candidates are completely and equally unacceptable, I am going to exercise my right to vote and choose the lesser of the two evils ... then work to improve the pickin's in the next election.

Late to the fun.
What qualifies a person as too liberal for you? One vote? Half their votes? One issue? All issues?

No, you don't vote for liberals. We get that. The end result of that may just be that you get the most liberal candidate elected.
Thanks!

I don't know why that is so difficult to understand.
I guess what's difficult to understand is how you can feel so passionately about your vote (and rightfully so) while dismissing the consequences of NOT casting that vote.

-belief in limited government I do, most here do not, or cannot decide what "limited" means. And I've never met a Democrat who believes in UN-limited government, although I guess some may exist. It's kinda nebulous.
-belief in the Constitution and those rights outlined in it
Which parts? Liberals like the first amendment, usually, and "conservatives" the second, usually. I believe in all of it, and draw lots of fire for it here.
-defense of our nation
I don't know any Dems who don't believe in that, they differ on how to do it however. (they are almost always wrong on the "how")
In any case, those are so broad, they are meaningless to me.

What qualifies a person as too liberal for you?Anyone who thinks that abortion is OK is a liberal. Anyone who wants to take away my RTKABA is a liberal. Anyone who believes in wealth transference is one. Anyone who wants to take my rights away or grant "new" rights to others, or groups of people, is one. That should do it for now, I might think of others as well.

On all those issues, I'd say many Republicans agree with you and the one's that don't are eons better than the Democrats they're running against, which proves my earlier point.
Is Ken Blackwell a liberal? Is Alan Keyes a liberal? How about Tom Tancredo? Rick Santorum? Ann Coulter? (I know she's not in office or running...just picking your brain a bit.)

I don't dismiss the consequences. I understand them.
That includes the consequences of electing liberals.
BTW, you still don't get it. I cast my votes.
If you think it's worse to skip a race, or vote for someone other than the Republicrat, than to vote for someone who is opposed to everything you believe in, you and I disagree.

OK, now we're getting somewhere. To answer your previous question a bit better...
A conservative is someone who thinks abortion is wrong, the RTKABA is important, and shall not be infringed, wealth transference is wrong and doesn't work, etc.
So therefore...again, I ask. Are you a conservative? I am.

The difference is that the way you do it might make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside but DOESN'T ACCOMPLISH anything.

Then you need to be a bit more observant. Our grassroots effort just ousted 16 RINOs in PA primaries and forced another couple dozen into early retirement. We upgraded the seats to conservative candidates. Brought in a few young Turks who aren't afraid to challenge the corrupt old power structure and party leadership.
We improved our team. Now we'll play the best game we can with the team WE MADE until the next primaries. Lather, rinse & repeat.
Every action, even inaction, has a consequence. You may imagine you're somehow morally superior if you don't pull the lever for your self-labeled "evil". You're not. You're complicit.

I don't spend a lot of time thinking about the philosophies of people who are irrelevant to my vote.
I care about ideas and concepts first. I care about events second. I care about personalities last.

A conservative is someone who thinks abortion is wrong,Yes, but not to the exclusion of many other people.
the RTKABA is important, and shall not be infringed, wealth transference is wrong and doesn't work, etc.
Again, some others feel the same way on those issues.
So therefore...again, I ask. Are you a conservative?
Based on those criteria only, yes.

Warm and fuzzy is for Dems and Repubs.
I accomplish plenty. Sooner or later someone has to take responsibilty for what they do and how it affects things.
Some people, (many here) think in short term it's better to vote for bad people because they are scared of worse people. I'm not one of them. I think that in the long term, voting for what you want is a better way to actually get going in the right direction. I'm not content to get worse slower.
If you take baby steps toward hell, sooner or later your shoes will be on fire.

Using your method we might be on fire before we can do anything about it.
