So residents who don't have the new IDs won't be allowed to board a plane or enter a federal building without one.

Hmmmm, no jury duty, no reporting to federal tax court, AND HEY! I can't go to federal prison, I won't have the new ID...../sarc

I remember my dad saying bar codes were the mark of the beast. He was always leery about those talking cash registers, too.

I'm curious to see how people are lured into accepting less individuality ... but heck, they don't ever have to have THAT mark.

"The second coming happens when the last trumpet blows. I'm thinking this is the seventh trumpet in revelations. I'm afraid there will be Christians around during most of the tribulation."

You might want to re-read Revelation you're mixing two events together. Like other times in the Bible, the flood, Sodom and Gomorrah ... He removes HIS people first, then all hell brakes loose.

There will be some new Christians around during the Trib but before the Trib occurs, Christians will be "caught up" to meet the Lord in the clouds. He'll be back though ... when Armageddon occurs and will stop that.

You may be on to something. From the worldtribune.com "Iran can block oil export whenever necessary," IRGC Air Force commander Gen. Hosein Salami said. "This is a natural ability of our country."

Wow. Salami really is evil :)

You might want to re-read Revelation you're mixing two events together.

I've read Revelation a few times recently. And related parts of Daniel, Ezekiel, Mathew, and Thessalonian. I do not see a compelling reason to believe in a pre tribulation rapture though.

For instance I have read Matthew chapter 24 vs 15 through 31. Notice the progression. The desecration of abominations written about by Daniel, then times of trouble as the world has never seen or ever will see again, then the sun fading out and stars falling from the sky, and finally the Coming of the Son of Man with the sound of a trumpet.

Revelation and Daniel both will put the desecration at time, times, and half a time (specifically three and a half years) after the covenant with many by the Antichrist. Then he will declare himself god in the high temple--which puts us after the scrolls and before the trumpets.

Now there are a few arguments that can be made for a pre tribulation rapture, but I just don't think they are as strong.

The bigger point is that you can't know exactly what the prophecy means until its come to pass. (note that Jesus said specifically in Mathew 24:36 that even He does not know the day, but only the Father). But I do think its fun to try to piece it together, and make my best guess.

That said, I don't doubt that a national ID could possibly set up the stage for the day when the mark of the beast is required. But, for now, there's nothing anti Christian in a national ID.

I agree. This program certainly won't meet the criteria, but it could EASILY be an early step in a program that paves the way for the real thing.

Perhaps they did.

However . . . social security numbers

did NOT have a world wide economic network able to prevent buying or selling without the ss# being in the palm or forehead.

The SLAG [SLAve taG] chip implant fulfills the Biblical prophecy rather thoroughly.

You can ignore the progress toward that end, if you wish.

You can also ignore the progress of the NWO puppet masters toward the global government destined to implement such an ID.

But I wouldn't recommend such denial, personally.

Does the federal Real ID Act provide financial penalties such as "if your state refuses to comply with the Real ID Act, your state will lose federal highway funds and federal education funds"? If so, would states who pass anti-Real ID Act laws end be being successfully "pressured" into accepting it?
