It's so damn funny that DU closes it's threads to lurkers when they are losing on an issue. What a bunch of babies... If you go to the DU website and put your ear near the screen, you can hear the faint sound of whimpering.

Not to worry.
Kennedy's walk off the floor of the Senate was long enough that his ass and crotch are chapped from the friction.....rendering him more impotent and uglier than normal...
Kerry will be tied up for hours, apply salve and "mother's friend" to the wounds of his fellow Senator from Massoftwoshits.

I think the delay has to do with Senate rules and procedures.

Chaffe needs to switch parties... he constantly rebukes anything conservative. He is a hypocrite calling himself a Republican doesn't matter how blue his state is...

Still Lautenberg, Menendez, and Corzine are all more popular in NJ than Alito probably is. This victory may mean that the senators do listen to public opinion on a high profile nomination when the public has had a chance to see everything in the open. Maybe this vote will help that Cranston, RI, mayor win the GOP Senate nomination in "Little Rhody."

I would vote for Lieberman over McCain!
Can always count on Lieberman. He's the next Zell Miller.
