What Men Like About Women
Uh, me. | January 25, 2006 | Niuhuru

There is so much animosity these days between men and women; needless to say I think it would be a great thing to describe the positive things that men on this forum like about females, especially the Freeperettes.

Thanks for your post. You spoke very eloquently proved the point that I wanted to.

Men are supposed to be strong. I don't know how many of you FReepettes have your man on lock down, and I am not accusing any of you, but you all know what I mean. Men who don't have a say because they are afraid to open their mouths. Their women don't have any respect for them.
My brother is like that. I love him to death, but he is straightup WHIPPED. His wife is such a boss. He HAS to ask her to come over to my house. He does everything she tells him and can't figure out why she has no respect for him. She calls him an idiot and dresses him. He is the equivalent of her 10yo son.

I keep telling him if he stood up to her, did what he wanted to do and put his foot down LIKE A MAN, she might show some respect. I don't mean be mean and nasty. Just lay down the law every once and a while....

There is a classic Seinfeld episode regarding that. George finds the woman of his dreams on a prison visit, dates her (cause he knows she'll always be "in"), sabatoges her parole so she'll stay there, but then she breaks out and, well, he finds the meaning of "fugitive sex."

So are conjugal visits and "fugitive sex."

It's still not better than "conjugal visit" sex.

I like how women will turn a thread about what they like in men into a discussion about cats.

Meanwhile, men turn a discussion about what they like in women into a discussion of Seinfeld or football.

You know, after a big fight, you make up. (It doesn't involve lipstick or mascara... unless you want it to, I guess.)

Careful, don't put words in my mouth.

He HAS to ask her to come over to my house.

My husband doesn't have to ask my permission to go anywhere. But considering our life is like a three-ring circus, I like it when he tells me his plans so that I can plan accordingly. Better yet, I like it when he asks if we have any conflicting activities. I'm not his mother or his keeper, but I think it's just politeness to keep each other informed.

Just lay down the law every once and a while....

I said I didn't want to be on a pedestal, but I also don't want to be under a boot. I'm not a child either, so I don't need the law laid down for me.

What would happen if he said something like this?

Bro: Hon, I haven't seen my brother Hottieboy in ages. If we don't have other plans, I'd like to go have a few beers with him. On Saturday, I'll take care of the kids so that you and Dashing Dasher can go fly her plane upside down.

Wife: Great. Will you take me to Brokeback Mountain Saturday night?

Bro: Sorry, Hon. Not gonna happen.

I gotta wait that long? Geez I may be dead by then! Seems to me you're smart enough already - college will only rot your brain! :)

I didn't mean to imply that your house was like this at all.

And you are right about Brokeback, at least for me anyway. But for him, it's not a matter of him taking her. She would tell him they are going and that would be the end of it. So sad.
