Discovery Channel special on Ghengis Khan

The Discovery Channel is running a *very* good special on the life of Ghengis Khan. It's about half over now, but it will rerun again at 11pm Central Time. It's been shown before, but it's very accurate. Well worth watching.

TOPICS: History; Military/Veterans; Religion
KEYWORDS: godsgravesglyphs; islam; mongols
If you think that Ghengis Khan was an uneducated barbarian who merely looted and pillaged and just happened to decapitate Islamic culture by accident, you need to see this special. Did you know, for example, that Ghengis' empire practiced a primitive form of democracy? Or that his empire mandated religious freedom?

True, he was a hard man in a hard time, but in terms of civilization, he was lightyears ahead of the rest of the world, IMHO. Once again, the show is well worth watching.
