Let me say this because I was there. This press release is utter bullshit! David Boren is trying to save face for OU! A bomb went off no more than 400 feet from the football stadium, which at the time held close to 84,000 souls. One “device” exploded killing someone. No one is saying if it was a man or a woman at the time of this writing. Then another device was found near the crime scene. The Bomb Squad destroyed that “device”. With all that said, and plenty more to say, David Boren, President of Oklahoma University, releases this crap? Everyone in Norman knows the guy is a liberal. But now his office seems to have made him a public liar as well. While covering this story, there was speculation among the press that OU would try to sweep this whole event under the rug to save the face of OU Football. Otherwise why wouldn’t the federal agents, that came out of the woodwork in droves, have taken over the investigation rather than leaving the whole matter in the privately funded and controlled Oklahoma University Police Department?

Here it is.
bump!
Anyone who think there is a partisan coverup isn't looking for facts.
Why do you say that, cc?
Thanks for the ping.
Needs repeated BUMPing.
First reference on FR OU suicide bombing thread was here:

Yeah, I'm curious too.
Yes, I credited OXENinFLA in my first comment with the scoop.
Because in the event of a bombing the feds will seize control immediately. Even in the event of an accidental explosion the feds are on the scene almost immediately.
The Feds were there. The other thread has accounts describing how Homeland Sec. and FBI were on the scene right after the first explosion.
According to phikapmom, an acquaintance who was there, who is Persian was interviewed by the cops after the incident. She was then instructed to not talk. I hope the reason is an ongoing roundup of all friends, family, etc. of the bomber, and not a 'public hysteria management' tactic.
Personally, I would like to see a little more 'public hysteria' with regard to terrorism.
Just glancing at some of the other posts from this guy, he's no Republican or conservative. Maybe if both sides of the blogosphere (as well as FReepers) work this story, some of the truth will come out.
The next couple days ought to be interesting.

Norman police did say there was more than one device and now that story has changed since Homeland Security and FBI took over.

"Personally, I would like to see a little more 'public hysteria' with regard to terrorism."
I agree but I don't see any reason to inject partisanship into it. It diverts attention from finding the facts.
Oh, PARTISAN. I agree. A coverup of some kind is going on, but I don't buy the partisan thing either.
It's a lot like trying to put a jigsaw puzzle together but only using pieces of one shape.
