It’s Pied Piper Pitt’s WORST nightmare. Scamdy has left Johns Hopkins Hospital (according to Scamdy) and is now posting in DUmmieland as you can see (UPDATE: Thread ELIMINATED by Skinner) in this THREAD titled, “Anyone want to guess who the former Mrs. Harasaki is?” Actually, Scamdy, the only thing I really want to guess is why the April 27 FAX posted by your cheerleader Pitt as “proof” that you have pancreatic cancer was able to accurately predict back then that you would have surgery on the week of May 23 when it was ORIGINALLY scheduled for May 10. Perhaps Mrs. Harasaki is the one who sent the FAX and possesses some sort of psychic powers to look into the future since it wasn’t until almost two weeks AFTER the FAX was sent that your surgery was rescheduled to the week of May 23. However, welcome back Scamdy. Your recovery has been truly miraculous. In fact you were even able to make cell phone calls and sing Broadway show tunes from your ICU and even make a few posts on the Web even though Pitt has recently threatened to “smash you” if you make more posts in DUmmieland. UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE! Apparently Skinner is also quite FRIGHTENED by Scamdy’s appearance in Dummieland since he just tossed this whole thread down the Memory Pitt. Unfortunately for Skinner most of that thread has been PRESERVED here on the DUmmie FUnnies. As usual the jolly healthy Andy Stephenson posts are in Bolshevik Red while the commentary of your humble correspondent, wondering how many more of Scamdy’s posts will be tossed down the DUmmieland Memory Pitt, is in the [brackets]:

I bet it was the surgeon, yes! and she was married to some other doctor but fell in love with Andy and got divorced and now she's the current Mrs. Andy Stephenson! And now that he's coming off the morphine he's thinking maybe he made a mistake.
[Yes, definitely a mistake. If Scamdy found himself married to Petra Verkaik he would also find himself in a state of deep revulsion. Now…if that fantasy included marriage to Pied Piper Pitt, that would be so much more romantic to Scamdy.]

Just about a month ago, the Andy story broke on CU, BIGTIME. Suddenly this forum was flooded with threads on the subject. Members were starting a new thread, every time a new post was made on DU.
Andy fever spread throughout B/W, in GD, and even into the freaking lounge. It got out of control so i told the rest of the mods to ship all Andy threads here to Best/Worst.
Eventually they because too cumbersome, even for the Best/Worst denizens to bear. Many of our regulars were complaining and asking that the subject be banned but I was also aware that many other people were coming here for info.
I hold two quotes on freedom of speech close to my heart. One is in my sig:
"I do not agree with what you have to
say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it." Voltaire ...
The other is also important:
"If there is a dividing line between liberty and license, it is where freedom of speech is no longer respected as a procedure of the truth and becomes the unrestricted right to exploit the ignorance, and to excite the passions, of the people. These were the inspiration for my decision to host two threads in the issue and since i am mod in both B/W and Thunderdome, I decided to have two threads. One, here, kept as distilled as possible and the other in the Dome to allow the total freedom of speech that CU holds so dear to it's heart.
If you read through the earlier threads and the Dome thread, and compare them to part 1 and 2 of this thread, I think you will see the logic in that decision. I thought that giving two choices on how members could participate would work and allow the needs of both the info seekers and the flamers to be met. I was wrong. Some people could either not grasp the concept of civility or just plain wanted to be a pain in the ass.
Second, until the decision to shut this down some 10 hrs early, I received no orders regarding any of my decisions from the owner or administrator of this forum. Anyone who is trying to say this was basically anything other than my decision to start it and my decision to end it is lying. This is not CU's management running scared. This is CU's members and especially me, having enough of it. I know there are some of you who will say that no one had to click on the threads but honestly, these threads were sucking the oxygen out of CU and replacing it with methane. How long can you tolerate an elephant crapping in your living room?
Last, i'd like to thank the many people who got it and participated in these dedicated threads without causing problems. The civility and co-operation i received from many people on both sides was greatly appreciated. I'm sorry that the actions of a few have impacted the freedom of the many but isn't that usually how it goes?
I also need to thank Rob, Gator and the mods for their tolerance for my position on letting this roll as long as i have. A special thank you to Pya, my co mod here and DH, Supermod and my co-mod in the Dome and Supermod Daveman for taking up the slack for me as i focused on this issue and for covering for me when i needed to be away.
To the no0bs who were attracted to CU by this issue.
We do hope you stick around long enough to get the flavor of what CU is normally like. Without the elephant in the living room, i think you will notice an especially interesting smell of the air around here...sometimes giddy with laughter, heavy with thought or tinged with the smoke of flames.
it's the smell of freedom.
PS. I have been informed that the Andy investigators are setting up a board. When they do, I have asked that they send me the url of their site. if they do, i will announce it in a thread and sticky it in this forum.

Umm, trust me, it isn't all because of the Andy thread. Suffice to say, this is a normal state of mind. Like I said, you are either a part of the clique or you aren't. Andy or not, that's the way things are.

I wish I worked with people who exercised such restraint. Well, most do but there are two who like to start things up. I can keep quiet for awhile, but eventually they can goad me into a response. Last time I told him to stop the political talk - it was impacting patient care. 30 minutes later he was off of politics and onto why he believes science and is therefore an athiest. So in one day he argued both politics and religion.
Nah, the apple in Eden was far more attractive and offered far more wisdom;-)But,like CU, once you bite the apple, you realize what a bum deal you got.
Now do the same with the check below. You will see the *** asterisks end in a totally different place.
2. Look at the beinning letter "M" in May. It is typed a little higher after the colon. The 2nd check, it starts a little lower than the colon.
3. Look at the word "Eighteen". The top check appears to have the word typed in above the line. Now the check below, the word "Eighteen" is typed pretty much on the line.
Two checks, typed at different times but giving the impression that it's one in the same.
