1. but...but....we're not occupiers, we're liberators!
That's why we went to war - to liberate those poor downtrodden people from the evil dictator Saddam. We're spreading democracy!
(sarcasm off)

2. Democracy My Ass!!
if we are spreading democracy, then why will we not allow the Iraqis to have the government they want? We will only allow them to have it IF WE APPROVE OF IT. Remember when there was a g roup who wanted a Constitution based on Islam for Iraq?? and what our government's position was on that idea?
Again...Democracy my ass!
Cuba is not going to be the 51st state...IRAQ is!!

"Lynn, no more 'bring it on' ok? Our troops lives are at stake, although I would agree that those citizens of that region have much more to lose than we. We're in for it alright. Refuse to sacrifice here at home? Brace yourself. I fear that the comfortable here at home will yet pay more of a price for Bush's ignorant meddling. I just wish we could all realize what we are doing to each other in the wake of these neonut's ideology and meddling. We are all pawns in their foolish game. In all of the orchestrators of these violent expressions of nationalism as well. There may be no other choice for these citizens but to violently revolt, yet I still think we should strive more for peaceful awakenings and encourage all of the non-violent resistance we can muster."
I'm glad some people see our troops as human 8)

6. do you see the 100,000+ dead iraqi's as human
Edited on Tue Mar-01-05 11:38 PM by Djinn
I don't want to see any US troops killed but how long should the average Iraqi sit around and wait for citizens in the US to be successful at demanding a withdrawal before they join the resistance? how long did it take for the anti-vietnam protests to gain momentum - should Iraqi's wait untill 3 million of their countrymen are dead too?
I think expecting Iraqis to be peaceful after everything that the west has thrown at them for more than 30 years (remembering that they probably could have gotten rid of Saddam themselves a long time ago had the west not backed him) is asking a bit much. How long do you think the average american would wait if it were his/her country occupied, his neighbours arrested and tortured, his child blown up?

8. No sea dee, my HUSBAND is not "human" to me.
If it's good to cheer on Lebanon to kick out their occupiers, then it's JUST AS GOOD to cheer on Iraq to kick out theirs.
Unless one is a hypocrite, of course.

10. Yes I know they do. But it's ok to cheer on the Lebanese when it's just
SYRIAN occupiers?
It's not ok to do exactly the same when it's AMERICAN occupiers tho? Why? Because we Americans are ubermenschen?
And please direct your second reply to the person who actually posted to you.

12. I see you're totally missing my point so I'll try again.
A whole bunch of Americans are cheering on Lebanon to kick out their occupiers.
Kicking out their occupiers means they "want democracy" and the "bush Doctrine" (new & many times revised version) is "working".
Yet funny thing, they're NOT cheering on IRAQ to kick out their occupiers.
Now why would that be??? Just the usual hypocrisy and ignorance from America; cheer on a nation to kick out their occupiers while WE'RE OCCUPYING another nation ourselves.
Hopefully you now understand my post.

7. We're cheerring on Lebanon to kick out their occupiers, but we shouldn't
Edited on Tue Mar-01-05 11:40 PM by LynnTheDem
cheer on Iraq to kick out theirs???
That's a wee bit HYPOCRITICAL.
And yes I have family members at risk; one husband active duty army recently back from Iraq and one nephew National Guard currently Iraqmired.
But I am not a hypocrite.

17. Makes a lot of sense, Lynn
Unfortunately that means the Rethugs won't get it.
I don't want to see any US troops killed but...
I don't want to see any US troops killed but...
I don't want to see any US troops killed but...
When you get right down to it, your average DUmmie's fatal flaw is the inability to distinguish between one thing and another totally different thing.
and yet they still don't understand why they are losing elections.
I'm sure Hell will come as a surprise as well.
LynneTheDem should be LynneTheDUMB
Let the Iraqis tell them whether we're occupiers or liberators.
I think the pond scum over at DU would be woefully disappointed with the response.
leave it to the pansies,at,du to expect other people to do their work .... again
Well, yeah we are, you stupid Democrats.
We're cheering them on to kick out the scumsucker terrorists from Iran, Syria, Jordan, et al who make up the majority of the "insurgency." (Had to use a word that gets you libs all giggly and squishy inside.)
In fact, our military is even helping Iraq in vanquishing those occupiers.
So, what's your problem?
I'd like to watch the libs tying themselves in knots trying to grasp that concept...
Yeah, here we go again.
DUers cheering on murderers and terrorists. Anyone is better than America.
And they wonder why they lose.
