Hey all, The blackout has been lifted..OOORAH!!! My squad is back on base, after 6 lo-o-o-o-ong days!!! Only a couple "hairy" moments....no one (Seabees or Marines) got hurt!! There's power in prayer, that's for sure!!!
We had a reporter with the Los Angeles Times (Tony Perry) "embedded" with us today...as we completed our (last)mission. Look for the story to come out in the LA Times tomorrow or Thursday!! Imagine that, a reporter imbedded with the Seabees....(lol)
Needless to say, we're worn out.....!!! Hopefully, I'll get a good nights sleep...in "my" rack tonite!!! OOORAH!!! One thing about it, being here really gives you a different perspective on how well off we are back home....God is so good!
They've given us the day off tomorrow, Wednesday to recouperate I defintely need it...this IS a young man's game!!!
Looks like in (about) 30 days some of us will start to "retrograde" back the way we came....to be processed thru the Combat Stress/Post Traumatic Stress Disorder interviews. Then it's on to sunny southern California!!!! :)
How's the song go?...I've done my time I'm coming home....(lol)
Okay....too corny! Sorry! That's what happens when you go days without sleep!!!
I'll write more later!!! Thanks again for all your thoughts, prayers and support!!! Could not do this without you and them!!!!
Take care God Bless Larry
Thanks.
I had a brother-in-law who was a Seabees in WWII, toughest sob I ever met. Great guy but he had...issues with Japan. I bought a new subaru, not only would he not allow it in hs driveway, but not even in front of his house. I had to park it down the street.
Where did your BIL serve? Wasn't on Peleliu was it?
Bump!
Guadalcanal, Saipan, he was getting ready to visit Japan but Paul tibbits got there first.
I like your BIL! :)
Thanks for the ping.
Tell Larry thanks for a job well done, will be praying for his safe return.
Hey Bro,
I went to FreeRepublic and checked it out!!!
Bravo-Zulu to ya'!!! I had no idea the support extended out that far!!! You cannot imagine how important it is to have the support of our "fellow Americans"
There's no way we could do what we have to, without all the fine folks back home making the sacrifices they do!!!!
I can assure you....we're all proud to be an American!!!
The greatest people "AND" the greatest nation in the world!!
Thanks Bob!!!
God Bless!!!
