Leftists Stealing Votes That Don't (Really) Count?
In a matter of only hours, two left wing blogs - Kos and Atrios - went from the bottom of the pack of blogs and suddenly pulled ahead by a pretty fat margin in the Best Overall Blog category in the Wizbang Weblog Awards. I have a deep suspicion that (ahemm) someone rigged the poll. There is a huge possiblity that someone could have nixed the system, and after roaming at Kos and Atrios, Atrios hasn't even advertised himself in the Weblog Awards! I humbly ask that Mr. Alyward, chairman of the Election Committee open a full fledged probe in the possible disenfranchisement of conservative blogs in the 2004 Weblog Awards (ie. Powerline, LGF, The Corner). If the conservative bloggers were smart, they would get their readers to vote for one blog- thereby erasing the (fraudulent) lead that Kos is currently holding. I am writing an urgent letter now to the Election Committee and the FCC to begin an investigation.
Powerline is being pretty cool with all this. Hindrorocket only quipped, "Ballot Box Stuffed?". The ballot box is not just stuffed, it's full of tainted left wing kool aid.

Count Every Vote
Thanks to members of Daily Kos publishing automated voting code we've had to enforce strict IP checking for the polls. I had hoped that people would be able to conduct themselves in a civilized manner, but apparently that was too much to ask. Once the code got into circulation many of the sites nominated for Best Overall Blog got "help" by automated bots designed to continuously vote.
Those sites have been blocked permanently from accessing this site, but there's no way to stop future attacks short of limiting each IP address to one vote every 24 hours. Unfortunately this will affect AOL users and those behind corporate firewalls. The denizens of Daily Kos have left me no alternative.

It was them electronic voting machines!
Fraud! They stole it!
But I'd appreciate your vote in the catergory of Best Conservative Blog.
Double-barrelled Mega-PING! to both lists! If you want on, FReepmail me!
Heck! I need to add you to my list. Forgot!
Ah voted again! :^D
Interesting.
Why not just let them knock themselves out and zonk the vote for kos & co, then simply eliminate them from the final tally?
Sandbox them to the irrelevant corner where they deserve to be.
Honesty, obviously, isn't a liberal virtue, even among bloggers.
The Daily Kos was nominated for Best Overall Blog in the 2004 Weblog Awards (hosted by Wizbang), and posters there (along with posters from Wampum), in their "infinite wisdom," posted the automated code they are using to generate votes-in-quantity, in violation of the rules.
It appears that one of the Wampum authors provided the psuedo code or logic for the script hacks at Daily Kos and did so publicly and proudly at Wampum. I really don't know if the script kiddie at Kos ever saw the Wampum post, but it's just galling that a site that I have gone out of my way to promote both this year and last year would unapologetically participate (however peripherally) in what amount to a denial of service attack on the Weblog Awards site Saturday night.Wampum is hosting the Koufax Awards, which is the moonbat equivilant of the Weblog Awards. You'd think they'd be more logical and ethical in their approach to this.
But then again, these are moonbats who have, once again, proven their lack of ethical character.
My advice to Kevin Aylward over at Wizbang?
Screw 'em.
Yank the Best Liberal Blog award entirely, and pull any and all liberal blogs off of the award ballot. Period.
We are under no logical compulsion to provide entertainment or forum for their form of mental (and probably physical for that matter) masturbatory stimulation.
Oh. By the way. I'm still inviting your votes for me for Best Conservative Blog.
