Kerry, I voted in Oregon today for President George W Bush
Just wanted YOU to know that I, along with countless other Viet Nam Vets, do NOT SUPPORT you!
You keep trying to justify your past with Hanoi Jane and her crowd.
I was so anxious to vote for President Bush again that I delivered my ballot to City Hall.
So now I have from now until Nov 2 to remind the public of a few thimgs from your past.
How you out and out lied at Winter Soldier.
How you lied in the US Senate about Winter Soldier.
How you refuse to sign Form 180 to hide your REAL discharge.
How your FALSE testimony was used to torment POW's.
In fact Kerry I'm going to cost you every vote I legally can.
AND show my support for President Bush.
Now he is a man whom I respect.
He has real values.
Something which you know nothing about.

Head of Kerry's Vietnam Vets Against the War was Vietnam Vet phony

"Many of the stories were later shown to be fictional. Other so-called Vietnam veterans, such as the executive secretary of VVAW, Al Hubbard, a self-styled poet ("See what you've become, Amerika," ends one of his Vietnam odes), turned out to have no record of service in Vietnam."

"...At the time, Kerry was serving as the point man for the Vietnam Veterans Against the War.

The president of the organization was Al Hubbard, who claimed to be an Air Force captain
who was severely injured during his service in Vietnam.

It turned out Hubbard was a sergeant who never served in Vietnam..."

"Phony Vietnam veterans alleged in books
Guenter Lewy's 1978 book America in Vietnam (pages 316-317) and B.G. Burkett and Glenna Whitley's Stolen Valor (Verity Press, Inc., Dallas, Texas)(pages 113, 131-137) contain similar information about alleged flaws in Lane's book. Neither book, however, refutes any of the testimony given during the Winter Soldier Investigation.

Lawyer and leftist activist Mark Lane was one of the organizers of Winter Soldier. In 1970, Lane had published a book called Conversations With Americans purporting to be interviews with Vietnam veterans about war crimes, containing Vietnam tales of atrocities. Reporter Neil Sheehan showed some interviewed in Lane's book had never served in Vietnam and others had not been in the situations they described. Lane admitted he did not check military records, as confirmation of details was not relevant. Lane later confirmed these militarty records.
The following are often falsely listed as being participants in Winter Soldier, but were actually in Lane's book instead. This confusion is probably due to Stolen Valor having an explanation of Lane's history within the section on Winter Soldier.
Chuck Onan, stock room clerk in Beaufort, S.C.
Michael Schneider, deserted in Europe and deserted again in the USA.
Terry Whitmore, was in an unpopulated area of Vietnam.
Garry Gianninoto, medical corpsman at battalion headquarters.
VVAW leader and Winter Soldier co-organizer Al Hubbard lied about being an officer, and sustaining war injuries - but he never testified at Winter Soldier .
According to the investigative work of Burkett, Lewy and others, there were many imposters, liars, and plain nutjobs who infiltrated the ranks of the anti-war movement, and, in some cases, testified to war crimes and atrocities that never occurred in order to get attention, sympathy, and, in one documented case, medals and honors."

Kerry wrote an article for the Boston Herald on October 14, 1979:

"I remember spending Christmas Eve of 1968 five miles across the Cambodian border
being shot at by our South Vietnamese allies who were drunk and celebrating Christmas.
The absurdity of almost killed by our own allies in a country
in which President Nixon claimed there were no American troops was very real."

Christmas in Camdodia Dec 1968
proves to be yet another lie by "war hero" Kerry

Odd, I was in Vietnam on Dec 24 and 25 1968
and Johnson was my Commander-in-Chief

I didn't vote absentee.

In OR all ballots are by mail only.

You can either mail them back or deliver them to the nearest box.

They just have to be in the collection box by 8PM Nov 2

I delivered mine to city hall.

All good information, Tonk. I would suggest that folks here could cut and paste some of this info (especially post 18), print several copies, and give them to every veteran we know, regardless of whether they served in Vietnam or during another period. The bottom line - Kerry dishonors all vets with his lies.

How many do you see?

When I used to work campaigns in Oklahoma, we sometimes couldn't afford polls, so we had this bargain-basement method of determining what your core support was. (Not necessarily overall vote, but how many people really were passionate about your candidate.)

You simply count bumper stickers and yard signs.

Here in Central Florida now, I see a good 5 Bush stickers for every Kerry, and closer to 10 yard signs. This leads me to believe two things:

1) That Bush voters support Bush, and Kerry voters don't like Bush or Kerry but hate Kerry less.

2) As a result of 1, Bush voters are going to show up at the polls, and Kerry voters won't unless they have another reason to. Which they don't, really; there's nothing bitterly-contested going on that matters to anybody except us wonks.

I'd love to know what it's like in other areas.

We are honored here on FReerepublic to have you telling your story of Viet Nam service.. I mean it. History only survives if people are willing to pass down their experiences to future generations. Future FReepers must learn the truth, and real stories from veterans are the best way to pass it on.

Thank you for your service to America.
All the Best,

I judge Kerry by his record and it’s not much of a record to be proud of. The only honorable thing he’s ever done he’s exploited and degraded. Think about the military commendations that Harry Truman, J.F.K., Dwight Eisenhower, Richard Nixon, Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush, Bob Dole, and John McCain were honored with. I’ll bet you can’t name any of them with any certainty, because real heroes don't feel the need to exploit their acts of valor.

In every political campaign Kerry has ever run he throws his war record in the people’s face, knowing this will be questioned and when that happens, he cries like a little girl that his patriotism is being questioned. He purposely sets out to make himself the victim, creating the confrontation, knowing what to expect by raising the issue and preys on the fact that the people will be too stupid to see how he’s exploiting wounds that have never healed in Vietnam POWs and Veterans; men who served proudly and deserve more respect than Kerry is capable of offering. Kerry has admitted in an interview that he thought it would be advantageous to be on both sides of the Vietnam issue. If that doesn’t tell the people he’s a back stabbing political opportunist, then intelligence really is the minority and ignorance rules the land.

By making his “War Hero” status the major issue in all his campaigns, he forces Americans to fight the only war the U.S. ever lost all over again. John Kerry may be a “War Hero” and this is probably best represented with his picture in the Vietnamese Communist War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh City in a room titled the World Supports Vietnamese Resistance.

In 1971 Kerry admitted to war crimes during an appearance on Meet the Press while he covered all the soldiers fighting in Viet Nam under the same blanket of war criminals. His congressional testimony was used to humiliate POWs in Hanoi who suffered torture rather then make the same false and exaggerated confessions John Kerry made in front of Congress .

The North Vietnamese General in charge of all actions in the war admits in his autobiographie, had it not been for the actions by “War Heroes” like John Kerry, they would have surrendered before 1971. By his actions, Kerry caused the war to last longer than it should have and is responsible for the deaths that occurred because of that.

By John Kerry’s admissions, he is more deserving of a place in The Hague facing a war crimes tribunal than residing in the White House.

It’s quite reasonable to assume John Kerry’s Senate testimony before the Fulbright Committee in 1971 was not only fabricated from the Winter Soldier Investigation but also a regurgitation from the communist propaganda machine of the time. Kerry has admitted he twice met secretly with the North Vietnamese and Viet Cong in Paris one year before his Senate testimony and his script was exactly the same as what the communist propagandists were peddling around the world at the time. Kerry had not yet been discharged from the Navy when he had these secret meetings; he was still on active reserve status. Electing John Kerry as Commander in Chief would not only put a self confessed war criminal in the Oval Office, it would also place a man who who should be investigated for collaborating with the enemy there. I don’t understand why the Democrats were so stupid as to nominate such a polarizing person, maybe it was their desperate need for a “War Hero”.

If you don’t believe Kerry exploits his “War Hero” status as explained above look at his most recent actions. 30 minutes after the end of the Republican Convention he took the stage in Springfield Ohio and accused Dick Chaney of saying ” the night before, he was “unfit for command”. In fact Chaney made no such claim. But Kerry has exploited his “War Hero” record so often he believes he can anticipate the script and made the assumption that his opponent would make the accusation, which would allow Kerry to play the victim card. Let’s be clear the only victims are all the men who have served in the military and have been honored with the commendations that Kerry has deminished with his exploitation.

Look at the way Kerry has treated the Swift Boat Veterans. He refuses to give them the respect he demands for his service. He doesn’t show the courage of a “War Hero” by addressing them head on. Instead he threatens television stations that run the ads with law suits and demands the publisher of “Not Fit for Command” pull the book off the shelves. Free Speech in Kerry’s mind is only reserved for back stabbing political opportunists like himself. He talks out both sides of his mouth, demanding that Bush denounce the Swift Boat Veterans while at the same time demanding that he be given respect for his own Swift Boat service. If George Bush did denounce the Swift Boat Veterans, he would be guilty of questioning veterans patriotism just as Kerry is currently accusing him of.

We've become so collectively stupid as a nation most believe examining and questioning a candidate’s political record is negative campaigning and there are actually people who believe Zell Miller was out of line during the Republican National Convention. But Senator Miller’s speech is exactly what politics are supposed to be about in this country, as Harry Truman said “if you can’t stand the heat stay out of the kitchen” Kerry can’t stand the heat and squeals like a pig that his patriotism is being attacked at every opportunity. He plays the victim card as if it’s only card in the deck and it's wild. The scary thing is there’s a great number Americans who’ve been so feminized they fall for it. Some say we get the government we deserve; I say we get the government the we're stupid enough to accept.

Until John Kerry is ready to apologize to our Veterans for his actions and stop exploiting his “War Hero” status he should work on pulling the rice out of his a$$, sit down, shut up and stop politicizing the men and women in our armed services.

Way to go Tonk! I enjoyed filling out my ballot for the President as well. I haven't delivered mine yet though; waiting till a few days before the election. Less likely for it to get "lost" that way.
