"Probably postponed his trips? Obviously he should have postponed his trips. Had he gone on Friday, 24 hours later, nobody he visited would have minded." Well you are just wrong. I am in Pensacola. We are wiped out here, we would have minded. Before Bush arrived everyone was scrambling to get things going Before he got here.
It makes a hell of lot of difference when the President is coming, especially if you are FEMA or some other Gov. organization. You are wrong and I love Bush for being here. I don't care about the stupid debates. The man has been doing a fantastic job. I wonder how he even stays awake with all of the time he has been putting in.

I answered you with about as much info as you stated in your post to me. For starters, you might want to take a look at the 2000 election fiasco...wasn't that JAMES BAKER who settled that? Or are you one of the ones who was looking for Gore to be the next president...thinking Bush was selected not elected!!! If you are one of those types; don't let the door hit you in the ass.

If he knew; he could have made a cutting joke/remark about it. . .like suggesting when Kerry made a mistake; he could have said; maybe that isn't on you note cards; but. . . But alas; hindsight is one thing and with Bush; good manners always prevail.
That would not have worked at all.

Just finished a letter to the editor of my local paper to refute nine letters with claims of how Kerry looked more PRESIDENTIAL during the debate. I reminded the readers that while Kerry was getting a facial and manicure, the President was touring Florida in the extreme heat comforting victims of the hurricanes. Then I reminded them of the cover of Kerry's book disgracing our Marines with the flag upside down and asked how PRESIDENTIAL that was.

I understand the people who were actually there saw a different debate and when away thinking Bush killed oh skerry. It was the TV audience that saw things differently.

What John Kerry is doing is like all of the Demorats. They are trying to convince us that night is day because they have nothing else.

Kerry: All of these, and especially homeland security, which we'll talk about a little bit later.Wow! I'm surprised he didn't add: "But now, a few important messages from our friends at Heinz!"

I listened to the debate on the radio. I remember thinking it was pretty amazing that Kerry's answers were always perfectly timed to his time allotment- not once did Lehrer have to cut him off or did he stop short. I remember also thinking, I'm sure he's a good debater, but the absolute perfect timing seemed almost super-human. My husband noticed it too, when I asked him his impression of the debate. In most debates I've seen, both parties have at least a FEW time-management issues. That was just just bizarre (and a little rehearsed).

Dear bluecollarman--were you the fellow the other day who told the good story about Bush ordering up a Porta Potty for a beleaguered and uncomforable Floridian? I loved that story...and I've been trying to find it again.
If this story could be authenticated, I think it has real power. One guy goes to the Spa for a manicure, the other guy's busy ordering PortaPotties ...

I also wondered about who might have been doing minor alterations to the set in ways no one would notice - - I also thought that Bush looked like there was a yellowish, more harsh light over his podium; while Kerry appeared in a more subdued, full spectrum light setting.
I hope the President's people were aware enough to not be taken by Democrat dirty tricks like this.

Why not Jim Lehrer? His e-mail address???

I agree that Jim Lehrer should be Freeped...shouldn't he ask a follow up question to Kerry on camera....what were you taking out of your pocket? As Moderator, doesn't he have some responsibility to pursue this? And with Kerry's new add today saying that he won the debate and that Bush is lying about it....I think it is important to get this out in the open. I've been so ticked watching nothing but Kerry on TV since the debate...it's time we turn the momentum back to Bush.
To: lepton
Keyes slapped him around continuously in 2000,I don't recall Keyes "slapping" Bush around.
But, in any case, my reference was to debates that mattered.

Actually, if you measure Kerry's expensive, poufed coif of one and a half inches, factor in good arch support insoles in expensive thick soled shoes, you get potentially a height enhancement of TWO AND A HALF TO THREE INCHES in height. - Pres. Bush could get more pouf in his hair, and ditch the super-flat, sensible shoes and get some Good Feet Store arch supports, and he could add a couple of inches to his height, too.

Hate to say this everyone...just saw the video on Fox News. He pulled out a pen and pulled the cap off. He wasn't unfolding a piece of paper. I stood righ t up to the tv screen. DRAT.But if Kerry brought the pen himself and didn't surrender it before hand, it's still a violation of the rules. You can scroll notes into the body of a pen.

Been around a fair while. Then you should know better than to refer to somebody well-known for their dedication to FreeRepublic in particular and conservative causes in general as a liar.
What's your story?
That's not germane to this discussion. What IS germane is that you will be corrected if you continue to disparage respected posters like kristinn.
