NEVER FORGET
.."TOM McSELFISH =
...Gov. BustaMENCHA"
........was THE Sign to behold at this weekend's California Republican Convention held in Playa Del Rey next to the Los Angeles International Airport. So I did.
...No Convention Endorsement came for California Governor, but a posted Convention Straw Poll showed ARNOLD with nearly ..80%.. of the votes verses a little over ..18%.. for TOM McCLINTOCK.
...No one backed down this weekend, though it was hoped one Candidate for California Governor would, with Recall Election Financier Congressman ISSA watching it all unfold right before his very eyes.

Arnold clearly isn't either, but for some reason you cannot understand it. Oh, I understand more than you realize.
McClintock is definately preferable to Arnold. I just think that even Arnold is prefferable to Bustamante.
But, hey, think what you like. It's not even my state that is in question here.
Good luck, California FReepers. I do hope things work out for you.

Arnold told us so.
All you really had to do was listen AND pay attention.

I know, I know.
I researched last week and learned that Florida and Texas, both with pro-life governors, were two of the three states with the highest abortion rates in 1999.
I like having a pro-life governor and legislature here in Florida, but all it has gotten us is a "Choose Life" license plate.

Riordan's claptrap and clique sabotaged Simon's campaign.
Granted, Simon had a great many other problems...the lack of any one of them would have been enough to turn the election.
However, the insistance that no conservative have a chance in California is a tried and true historical practice in the RINO GOP since Reagan...and you guys are still choosing losers while blaming the voters who are still waiting for a conservative.

Arnold has made some general comments about comp so he can get the rate down for his restuarants.Right now workers comp is the whole issue for me, or at least the main one.I know it isn't for the majority because they don't pay it.I think you might find that McClintock has alot of small business support.I'm a shallow person and only think of my own interests.

Whatcha gonna do when Arnie the gubinator? I am going to be a happy camper. Life'll go on. On the upside, we Californians will get to see alot more of the Kennedy clan.

McClintock is on the Dennis Praeger right now and he has a good point about TomBot staying in the race ... he acts as a shield against a "Hershenson." (Barbara Boxer pulled this against Bruce Hershenson by releasing a story a few days before the election that Bruce had been to an Adult Bookstore or stripclub, something like that), which enabled her to win the election.
McClintock echoed that by stating the with him in the race, they don't know what to do in this regard.
It's an interesting take.
To: SONbrad
Very good...
Arnold is a great deal more than "50%" liberal, however...but McClintock is pilloried...disingenuously...as a "far right" conservative?
It's wrong.

Arnold says that he will actively work for a ban on partial birth abortions.
Tom says that if a bill happens to make it to his desk that bans partial birth abortions, he will sign it.
So I guess the answer to your questions is, Tom will protect fewer babies than Arnold.

McClintock is on Dennis Prager right now. He just said that he will NOT ban abortion.
That does it.
Now I can NEVER vote for that RINO. :o)Who is left for us to vote for, anyway?

Carry out an agenda?
ROFLMAO!
Since you bring it up...why are you supporting a guy who's carrying out THE ENEMY'S AGENDA!?!?!?
As for demographics...do you have the numbers of conservatives who see rhetoric such as yours and decide to stay home for another year since y'all refuse to bring a conservative to the table?
Shoot yourselves in the foot and then blame the bullet. Conservatives will always vote for a conservative candidate, try it sometime.

Will he protect more or fewer babies than Arnold? The irony here may be that Arnold would do more for pro-life than McClintock, by advancing the abortion restrictions he's in favor of, because it would behoove him to please the social conservative base that is suspicious of him. While McClintock doesn't have that problem and would likely fear the reaction of the liberal California press if he, the avowed pro-life champion, were to move to restrict abortion.
The fact that McClintock, like Simon before him, is now openly admitting that he would do nothing about abortion does not surprize me. He is now, in essence, operationally pro-choice. Purists please take note.

Arnold says that he will actively work for a ban on partial birth abortions. Tom says that if a bill happens to make it to his desk that bans partial birth abortions, he will sign it.
Can you document these claims?
BTW:
SACRAMENTO - The California ProLife Council Political Action Committee has announced the endorsement of Tom McClintock for election to the office of Governor.
CALIFORNIA PROLIFE COUNCIL PAC is an internal PAC of the California ProLife Council, the largest pro-life organization in California with chapters and affiliates which geographically span the state.
Brian Johnston, CPLC Executive Director, stated, When pro-life candidate Bill Simon dropped out of the race for governor, that essentially cleared the field for the pro-life movement to unite behind the one pro-life candidate best positioned to advance the message of Life, Tom McClintock." He is committed to the restoration of policies that respect human life, and will work to protect those members of society who are least able to protect themselves-unborn children, and medically disabled or dependent persons whose lives are threatened by abortion or euthanasia.

This is the only one of your 3 posts to me I will respond to (your accusation that I have no principles is too stupid to try to refute).
We can argue until the cows come home, but the FACT is that in 1992, conservatives who were mad at GHW Bush for not being conservative enough, voted for a NON conservative, Ross Perot, and fed this country to the wolves by helping elect a debauched and dangerous man.
You can spin it any way you want, but you can't change the facts, sir.
