Can You Help America?

Can You Help America?

Are you willing to give five minutes or more of your time to think about a solution to a very costly problem that exists in every State in the Union?

If you listen to Rush Limbaugh on TV or on his radio show, you will hear him discuss how dumb and ineffective Democrats can be. He has been saying that the Democrats are only good at whining about problems, not at fixing problems. Rush says the Republicans are the only party that actually fixes problems. Do you believe this? FreeRepublic.com is overflowing with Republicans isn't it? I propose that the Republican FReepers attempt to find a solution to this major problem and demonstrate to America just how effective Republicans (and FReepers) can be.

In the early 1960s, approximately 62,000 illegal aliens came across the Mexican border, and the INS considered this notable and worthy of action. Now, in the first decade of the 21st Century, hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens enter the United States across the Mexican border each year and the INS declares the problem too big to tackle because nothings stems the tide. Federal immigration laws state that sneaking into America without going through the INS Border Patrol stations is illegal. Hiring an illegal alien is illegal. Sheltering an illegal alien is illegal. And keeping knowledge from law enforcement as to the whereabouts of an illegal alien is illegal. With Agenda 21, the politicians are looking at every way possible to give those who break these laws a pass by granting amnesty and American citizenship to illegal immigrants. Agenda 21 means effectively removing the borders between Mexico and the US. NAFTA just opened our roads to tractor trailers from Mexico. This situation will become much worse.

This problem has been ignored in just about every city and county in America while costing exorbitant amounts of taxpayer dollars, spent on social welfare and the education of illegal aliens. Ignoring this problem also comes with the cost of an increasing crime rate resulting in too many American citizens being victims at the hands of illegal aliens. Governments at all levels, federal, state and local are not protecting America's federal nor State sovereignty,. nor are they protecting American citizens.

Why should you and I support a federal lawbreaker in our State? So an incumbent politician can get reelected with their illegal vote? I don't think so!

Matricula consular identification cards are solid identification of an illegal allien. If you can't show a birth certificate, a Visa or a green card then you are an illegal alien who has broken our immigration laws. They must leave America and reenter within our laws. We shouldn't have to amend our laws to accommidate lawbreakers! What example does that set for those who are attempting to enter America legally? Much more important: What example does this give our children? That breaking the law can be a rewarding act? If our immigration laws carry no penalty for being broken, why should bank robbery, or molesting children be punished? Do we make our laws for them to be ignored by aliens and politicians? Is a vote more precious than our standards and ideals? Our politicians must believe so, judging from their responses.

The words "protect the people" are found in virtually every Oath of Office taken by elected and appointed officials in the US, including the police chiefs, mayors, county sheriffs, state legislators, governors, congressional representatives, and senators. Sadly, not one of these officials on the public dole is taking their Oath of Office seriously when it comes to the issue of illegal immigration.

The Supreme Court of the United States has wisely ruled that the Feds cannot force state, county or city law enforcement officers to enforce federal laws (including immigration laws), and our local and state officials use this as an excuse to turn their heads on the problem of illegal immigration while our communities slide steadily downhill. Government officials continue to demand higher taxes to keep the illegal immigration problems under "control" yet we can only sit back in wonderment as they pay lip service to the problem while actually enacting legislation and policies that encourage people to emigrate to the US illegally with promises of social welfare and education benefits.

Being an American is a primarily a state of mind for all of us - being a proud American is based on the idea of freedom and self-reliance. We are all immigrants from one country or another, and we (or our forebears) became Americans by consciously subscribing to these ideas. We came here legally, we obey the laws and we promote the idea that others obey the laws in the same way. Are we supposed to sit and wait while the political class comes up with the politically correct so-called solutions that fail to keep America strong and our families safe?

How many foreign college students choose each year to stay in America rather than obey the conditions upon which they entered America? How many older vistors choose to stay at the end of their vacations? How many deported criminal aliens return using a different name? How many Muslims are in America illegally studing our open way of life, just waiting for an opportunity to repeat 9/11? I am sure we have illegal aliens from every country in this world enjoying the American lifestyle, helping to bring us down to a third world power. We aren't too far from becoming the country that these people left. The American culture can only absorb so many new residents each year without radical changes. We have passed that number. We must act now before the policical leaders offer them amnesty and permanently defeat our way of life. The time has come to stand up and fight for what we believe in. The Constitution will become wastepaper. The Bill of Rights will become a memory. Our flag will become a symbol of defeat.

If you have listened to Rush, you know the truth of his broadcasts. If you haven't listened to him, here's an opportunity for you to show how good FReeper Republicans can be at finding solutions to our nationwide illegal immigration problems.

So tell us, what should be done to fix the problems of illegal immigration in your community?

#1. Should we acquiesce and allow the illegal immigration to continue while waiting for the elected officials to address the problem in a substantive way?

#2. Should we wait for Federal legislators to compromise our security and way of life by resolving the problem in a manner that is politically correct and acceptable to every nation in the world?

#3. If we continue to send snail mail and email letters to your local and State leaders. Will the roar be ever loud enough to be heard in the highest offices? What will their response be? Submition to illegal immigrants who want to change America forever?

#4. Should we wait until you fly off the handle and lash out at an illegal alien, surely resulting in legal problems that will further harm your family and ruin your life's ambition to be a good and loyal American citizen?

#5. Should you ignore the illegal immigration problem and hope it will go away before it gets much worse?

What should YOU do?
What should WE do?

It is time to stand together to correct this problem. You are the leader in your family. Your kids look to you to protect them. If you don't help us now, will your children be able to look at you with pride or shame in five years. It's your freedom and your way of life that is up for grabs.

It's your choice, you decide what to do before it is too late.

.

.

The new way of life

I hope you feel better. I don't know what I think about everything and I don't pretend to have all the answers. I hate what has happened in this country, but some of it is inevitable in a world filled with chaos and conflict.

My ancestors came here to escape tyranny of one sort or another and I think they had been moving along for many generations before that.

If you look at the history of this country, everybody kept moving on to greener pastures. Now we know that there aren't any greener pastures left and we have to make the best of things, and I'm trying to figure out how to do that.

We have to be careful not to waste our energy plugging holes in the dyke.

"PROSELYTE CHRISTIANITY! " Our Congress would never back that idea. Heck, we can't even say a prayer in class before the final exam.

These countries are using their entire resources in the pursued of proselyting Islam in the world. The rest of the world MUST react with equal vigor, or accept defeat.

caused by M O S LE M people only! Deport all illegal Moslems, do not allow new.......

They are doing precisely that. If you would keep up with the news on this, the INS/FBI began the effort some time ago. As they find them, they are scheduled for deportation.

They are doing this quietly.

I would post the appropriate articles, as I have been following this closely, but I lost them during a re-format. You can do a search via google and on FR. They are there.

I agree with most of what everyone is saying concerning Mexican illegal immigration. However, I believe that most of you are still under the illusion that every single job taken by them is one less job for an American. Theoretically, that is true. But many of the jobs that Mexican illegal immigrants are willing to do, are jobs that many Americans, with their entitlement-minded psyche, simply don't want to do. We have grown much too comfortable in this country.

Take the example from my turf here in New York City. As a condition for receiving welfare, former Mayor Guiliani had required receipients to be willing to work. The homeless, too. However, many of their respective advocates were deriding this requirement as inhumane and lacking in dignity. Imagine this, making a person sweep trash in Central Park is somehow less humane than sleeping on the street, dirty, smelly, strung out on drugs, digging through dumpsters and garbage cans for half-eaten, maggot-infested food. Sound ridiculous? IT IS! Unfortunately, that is the mindset of a lot of the underachievers in our society.

Therefore, if we can't even get desperate people to do some of these less than challenging jobs, how are we going to get more arrogant and comfortable people to work as janitors, or in a cannery, or picking lettuce. We need to reinstill a sense of duty and responsibility for people, not just privilege. Otherwise, Mexicans will continue to come in here and, quite frankly, we will continue to want them to come and the goverment with turn a blind eye to it, as they mostly have.

I guess I'm just assuming that I'd get on ping lists when I ask to be on them, not when someone else decides I need to be on them. That appears to have been a poor assumption on my part.

Very intelligent and thoughtful post. Yes, we have grown much too comfortable and spoiled. Add to that the status thing of having a good education and top-rate job puts one in the category where they look down on people who do the less desirable jobs.

I made the point in another post is that Americans would be more willing to do a lot of those jobs if they paid better. They used to be willing to do them, especially women who took menial jobs because there was a primary breadwinner at home and the supplemental income was welcomed. Now women are divorced and can't support themselves if they don't have a good job.

There are a lot of men in the workforce who don't have families to support. There are a lot of double dippers who have both husband and wife making megabucks.

Everything has gotten out of kilter to the point that I can't really put my finger on a good fix without stepping on some rather smelly toes.

As for you being in New York City, you can't even rent a room in a flop house and make a living doing a lot of those low-paying jobs. Who wants to live in a flop house anyway?

The irony is that foreigners come in and move into what once were very respectable neighborhoods and find a way to make it and support their families. With the rest of us expecting to live in $375,000 homes (and above), what hope is there for the long term? For people to live that way, an awful lot of jobs pay more than they are actually worth. That's why we are seeing all but the best companies going bust.

I don't see how things can last too much longer, economically speaking, with the current state of affairs. When I think how people used to buy homes (and modest homes, beautifully built, with custom architectural details) almost paying entirely in cash, it makes me want to weep.

That Illegal Alien poem-- succinctly describes the attitude of some Latino illegal immigrants. Who wrote the poem?

I don't have a proposal for the overall problem of illegal immigration. However, I do propose the following, in the hope that it will fix the issue of politicians who seem to think that non-citizens should have the same representation as citizens:

1) In the federal election to be held on the first Tuesday of February, 2005, no person shall be allowed to vote unless they have proved their U.S. citizenship by providing an American passport, birth certificate, or naturalization papers to the registrar.

2) The results of the election of any Federal official in any state not conforming to section 1 shall be nullified. Their Representatives shall not be seated in the House of Representatives, nor shall any newly elected Senators be seated in the Senate. Their electoral votes for President and Vice President shall not be counted. To ensure continuing representation, the sitting occupant of any seat that would have been filled by election shall continue in office. Not withstanding the usual perogatives of a State's Executive office, if the Federal office is vacant due to resignation or death, the seat shall remain vacant until it is filled by an election where the voters shall have qualified as per section 1.

It may be that a constitutional amendment may be needed for this. Or, perhaps not. It is certainly the intent of the Constitution that only citizens be allowed to vote. One would think that the Congress could enact law ensuring that this is carried out.

When I was a kid, most of the yard work in my neighborhood was done by white teenagers trying to earn gas money. White kids did lots of other manual labor, too.

By the time I was a teenager, this was starting to change. Though I myself took a summer job working at the maintenance department of my high school, no other whites had applied except the principal's son, who got himself fired for slacking. The workforce was 100% hispanic except for me. The boss praised me for working harder and more consistently than any of his regulars, but that's beside the point (except that 20 years later, I'm still proud of his comments.)

But, alas, noawadays white kids get allowances so high, they have no reason to work. This is a terrible, terrible mistake. I'd be happy to hire a white kid... or any American kid, of any race... but, none of them want to work when they're young any more. "Work" is something they expect to do AFTER college...

These underachievers should also be the underfed. I bet they would work then. The mindset needs changing. If the ecomony goes down, jobs are scarce and people are going to be screaming about the government STEALING their money to give to these people. That also goes for the illegals.

Why should I pay for anyone else to eat. I have to pay for mine. The government gives me nothing. This is insane. And Bush is playing the fiddle.
