Has ANYONE ever been imprisoned for smoking pot?

Liberteens come, and Liberteens go. But they seem to have an awful time with their own (and biggest - maybe only) issue - pot.
As far as anyone can tell, not ONE person has been placed behind bars for smoking pot. But the Liberteens paint an entirely different picture. They claim that HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS are behind bars for smoking.
Can anyone provide any proof either way?

With the desire apparently so strong for precision, "inference" doesn't make the grade. realpatriot71 did not state that he thought the law had imprisoned anyone for smoking pot, contra your linked page.

There was a couple in Louisiana, they sold their 100 acres or so to some guy and expected the payments to provide for their retirement. This idiot started growing and dealing and whatever and when *he* got busted, their land, which they still owned and wasnt paid off yet, was confiscated by law enforcement. They were totally innocent. The only concern of law enforcement was the resources they could steal to enhance their own situation. There was no concern for justice. Sounds bogus. If they were innocent lenders they should have been paid out of the proceeds from the sale of the seized property.
Gotta link to the story?

Why yes, somewhere in the world a person has been imprisoned for smoking marijuana. Oh, you didn't mean the whole world, just United States.Who? And what was the charge?
To: Stew Padasso
So if I spark up a joint in front of your house, will I be arrested?Yep. (What are you - a complete idiot?)

Using your Clintonian word parsing abilities, one could say that I never claimed he said marijuana possession was an arrestable offense, either.

I won't post the information I have until you post your profound wisdom you are reveling in.
You sure poked a touchy libertarian nerve. 140

As I said, "I won't post the information I have until you post your profound wisdom you are reveling in." Go ahead and post away. Don't forget to flag everybody that was waiting on you to post but got bored and left.

Stew P: So if I spark up a joint in front of your house, will I be arrested?
LL: Yep.
Is that an absolute? Has everyone who ever sparked a doob in front of your house been arrested? I suspect not, and recommend you call your local police department and raise this issue in the most irate manner you can muster.

The page you linked to concerns, as you said, drug use and crime and attempts to quantify drug use by criminals. It says absolutely nothing about numbers of drug prisoners, the stated subject of this thread. Obviously, the page you linked to does nothing to refute the statistics claimed by MPP.
BTW, you're a rather poor clairvoyant; I didn't comment on the figures presented, yet you inferred (divined?) that I thought they proved anything.
"Enlightiator," eh? Physician, heal thyself.

Wanna try again?Not really.

"Has ANYONE ever been imprisoned for smoking pot?"
OK, just to satisfy your question, I just went and "imprisoned" my neighbor for "smoking pot".
The charge? Failure to inviting me to join him.
Sentence? Imprisonment in his own living room till we smoked all his weed.
Whew! Glad we settled that question. So the answer is a definate "Yes".
Care to try another one?
To: Libloather
(You know you'll still be wrong - no?)Ahh, I see. You're French.

Has ANYONE ever been imprisoned for shooting someone?Got an answer?
To: Libloather
Has ANYONE ever been imprisoned for smoking pot? The short answer: YES.
The long answer: You may as well ask if any Jews were ever really put to death at Auschwitz. Your efforts to cast doubt on a history of repression reveal your agenda, which is really no more admirable than those who would try to convince us that the Holocaust never happened. It reveals the same level of politically-driven intellectual dishonesty.
And if you fail to see the relevance of that answer, you entirely lack critical thinking skills, and should return to the special-ed classes from whence you came.

People who flunk urine tests because of smoking mj have their parole revoked, and go back to jail because of it. As far as that goes, people who have a blood test that shows mj use who were involved in a traffic accident will be arrested for "driving while impaired" or some such charge, depending on how their state words it. The prosecution rests.
