[history]
A carefully planned and well-financed campaign to overhaul Michigan's drug laws crashed Tuesday, as the state Supreme Court declined to place the issue before voters in November.
Without comment, the court upheld decisions issued last week by the Court of Appeals and a state elections panel to keep the drug question off the ballot.

No loss. He single handedly brought the average IQ of Free Republic way down. Honestly, I wonder sometimes if, in his senseless ranting, he was just making a parody of his own reputation.

Where's that happening?
The last time the AM cracked down on abusive Pro-WODite behavior, Monty22 made some rather bitter remarks about "being censored". Hopefully it won't happen here...I imagine that even the most motly of Pro-WODers can get the hint sooner or later, although VA apparently got it too late...

Backwards. They didn't.
They rejected the proposal for inclusion before the voters due to a a technical mistake made in the wording of the proposal itself. It had nothing to do with what the proposal itself was about, unless you can prove otherwise.

How many posts of his were pulled over since he signed up (he's probably got the record), and he never once toned it down after how many warnings? If anything, he kept getting worse.

When have I ever said otherwise? Your straw man just fell down.

You were implyin that the judges had a different reason for doing it. So either I misunderstood, or you are reversing yourself.
I will try to assume the best, and chalk it up to a simple misunderstanding. I offer apology if I misunderstood you.

"This account has been banned."
I couldn't think of a person who deserved it more. That a-hole added nothing. He wasn't interested in talking about politics; he was only interested in getting into flame wars. Nor were they even fun flame wars . . .

I know I can be guilty of going over the top sometimes, but I can honestly say mine aren't mean-spirited. We screw up big-time when we try to demonize our opposition. On other threads I've found some of the Jack Booted Thugs quite amusing/engaging.

We all get caught up in the passion of the moment, and I've tossed a few names out, but there is a difference between passionate debate and being abusive...

Im not well only on perhaps a relative scale. All Governments are at best neccasary evils but one man is far more likely to rule better than a mob and if hes really bad hes not so hard to get rid off.

Didn't someone once say that a benevolent dictatorship is the best form of government, but a tyrannical dictatorship is the worst?

A democracy can be just as intrusive and dictatorial as a monarchy.

Yeah, but getting rid of the guys in power is a lot bloodier with a dictatorship. Are we using the technical democracy vs. republic definition? I'm not proponent of direct democracy, BTW.

Just look at the taxes in the 18th century absolutist states they tended to be very low and there was no welfare state.
