I saw that happen. The OP realized that there was already a thread to the same topic of interest. But still there were conversations and sentiments being also shared in this second post too and it is rude to just shut it off like that. Doesn't anyone know how to just "forward" any new comments to the older thread? It is not rocket science and only take minimal effort... I can teach you how... That way those conversations are not lost to the wind...
Does anyone care about the members here and have customer appreciation? Or is the arrogance so great that we should feel lucky you even allow us to participate here? If it is the later you are wrong and that is a mistaken perspective. That arrogance will be the downfall of this domain in the end.

A few weeks ago, I was banned for 10 days for a ‘burrito joke’ on a ‘burrito thread’. I have been banned for my humor before, but this time was over the top. My posting was neither rude nor nasty, not directed at anyone, yet was treated by mods as if it was pornographic. Had they pulled the whole thread it would be fine. But instead they banned me because someone couldn’t handle mild crude humor on a thread that was clearly started for humor. Like you dont see worse on FR everyday.
I never personally met Jim Rob, but we did have a few email exchanges, always cordial, always respectful. We had a military veterans bond even if we were different generations. I dont know Chris, and I sure dont know the mods, but watching the vitriol thats allowed to fester between some posters, the name calling (zeeper this, zeeper that), the rally calls to zot, I think I have come to the realization that many have stated before me: that FR is not what it once was, and too many good FReepers have been run off, and banned, and agitators are allowed to throw mud at people just being messengers bringing the news.
While in FR jail, I took note that the number of donors peaked about 2010 at about 1000, and since then its been a slow down hill. Last year we had about 450. This year it will be less, and I dont doubt that FR will fail to meet its goal for the third quarter like it did for the second quarter this year. The new management has only themselves to blame for this. I have complained to mods in the past that what has passed for acceptable behavior will dry up donors, and banning people for a sense of humor will do the same. They dont care.
Which is a shame, because I have loved this site since first introduced to it after 911.
Thanks for letting me know about the ongoing shenanigans. Sad. This used to be a decent site. After 29 years I’ve lowered my presence on the site to barely nothing because of the negative changes that have taken place.

That is absurd, getting a time out for what you said you’d posted on the burrito thread. I can see getting your post pulled. But, a time out seems excessive. But, I am not one of TPTB here.
Go back and re-read the zottees posts ... wild and FALSE claims about FReepers, repeatedly. Even the mod had to step in and correct one of its lies.
Yes ... the name calling is also tiring. I was called a Putinista, once ... on one of the rare occasions I even posted on a Uke thread. You know, because I praise and talk about Putin all of the time (as in NEVER!).
Remember those spamming Uke threads? Someone would post about 10-20/day, it seemed.
Glad that finally came to a stop.

I agree. There seems to be some power-tripping going on and they’ve run off some good posters. I hate to see this happen to FR.
This is absolutely ridiculous.
I’ve been here since the early 2000s and never would I have suspected that FR would be overrun with trolls and censors.
