A woman has revealed the moment she fell for a death-row inmate, before spiraling into a life of drugs. Benjamin Ritchie was driving a stolen van in 2000 when a police officer saw him and gave chase. After wrecking the van, Ritchie fired five shots. One of the bullets killed the cop.

In other words, she, and far too many others, live in a non real world. But why is that? Yes psychologists are part of the blame, but it runs the entre gambit, including parents, educators, entertainment, & the list goes on & on. This is what comes when people have not had to face many of the struggles humankind has faced, which are really growing/strengthening events to help humans cope & deal with life's experiences.
Two adages come to mind. One has to do with how men, hard men with ambition, vision and a solid work ethic build empires. Then they hand the empires to their idiot sons who flush it all down the toilet. That's where America is destined in, what? 25 years? The other is an allegory.
A man saw a butterfly struggling to emerge from a cocoon. He thought he would do the butterfly a favor by cutting the cocoon open, but the creature came out without fully formed limbs and died. The man later learned that it is the struggle to emerge that makes the creature strong. And without the struggle, it dies.
Every generation after the baby boomers has been pampered and spoiled and are so weak, they can't even think beyond they indoctrination of the group.
25 years?
I believe that is extremely optimistic, even in a question format. 😋
Perhaps by a factor of 5, 5 years max, now that Covid was introduced to facilitate the loss of the companies sooner. 🙁
Hope we are both wrong and that people will wake up, and soon.
She’s an idiot.
So she “fell pregnant” with her daughter?
This from the “Ejaculate responsibly” crowd...
I’ll never forget one young convict whose mother came to see him. She worked all week, got on a bus in New York City at midnight, rode 5 hours to visit her kid. And instead of greeting his mother with “Hi Mom, thanks for coming...how are you doing?” It was “What did you bring me?”
................................
I hope that was her last visit.
It probably wasn't. She allowed herself to be used by her son, and she wasn't alone. Plenty of women came to see their boyfriends, and husbands. One time an inmate said to me after a visit, that he loved his wife so much, and thought the world of her. I said: "Obviously you didn't love her enough to stay out of prison." He just walked away.
The classic enabling mother. Too many of them won’t or don’t know how to put their foot down to their spoiled children. Then they grow up and end up in prison where mommy can’t rescue them anymore.
But they still cater to their incarcerated child's every whim. You'd be surprised at how much stuff visitors brought in for the inmates. 20 years ago, they were allowed three packages a month, or 50 lbs. total, whichever came first. I'm sure that rule has changed since I retired. Inmates in New York State prison still earn money if they have no program, or job to go to. They can also mailorder things with the money in their accounts, and visitors could leave an inmate up to $50 a visit when they came, plus they sent checks and money orders to the business office to have it added to their account. Going to prison today is like going away to college. Your every whim is taken care of, and somebody else is paying for it.
Disgusting!
