McDonald’s likes to highlight combo meals on its menu boards.

Sandwichs are available but are no longer equally emphasized.

Big Mac hasn’t changed,…its the dollar thats becoming worthless.

$1.00 used to be worth 2 Big Macs, now its only worth one-sixth of a Big Mac

When I was a teen, McDonalds would have a sale on their anniversary, where they would sell their cheeseburgers for the original price of 10¢. We would buy bags full and freeze them.

I remember when $5.00 would more than pay for all the food you could eat at any fast food place.

I can’t remember the Big Mac price from the old days.
In the 60s, the regular single was 15 cents, and fries a dime.
IIRC it was cheap enough that as a kid you could ride your bike there and buy them for allowance money.

Combos are more profitable. Drinks and fries have a higher margin than burgers. And most people end up ordering those anyway, so giving them the option of saying "The number 7 meal" or whatever streamlines the process a bit.

Last week I went to a local burger place, not fast food, and a burger, onion rings and coke cost $20,

Since I live alone, I hate cooking for just myself. Too much time, pots/pans to clean. To cook yourself a good meal is not much less in cost than going to your Mom and Pop restaraunt. So I have been doing that till now (for reason dont want to go into) Dont eat breakfast or lunch....So I eat very simple single meal....pork and beans with summer sausage, frozen meatballs spaghetti sauce over can of corn and peas...If I cook may be just a couple pieces of fish baked. Meatballs with some chef boyardee...hard boiled eggs, tuna sandwich...cottage cheese with fruit....oh yeah a culinary “single guy” smorgasborg! But works for me and cheap!

Indeed. I can’t remember the last time I had one but it was a long time ago.

People have to be SICK IN THE HEAD to even eat at McDonald’s. Much better places to eat.

Too much bread and meat, for me.

How much have the fish sandwich and the Quarter-Pounder gone up?

"... the “meat” patties ..."

Do you mean to tell me that you DON'T care for the two all meat patties and the special glop?

I bet you are one of the gourmets who wants something 'better' than Alpo on your tacos, right?

I can spot 'your kind' a mile away.

I haven’t had a Big Mac in well over 10 years. Too much meat and too much bread for me. I’d have to dismantle the little tower and eat it on a plate.

I DO like their plain old hamburgers and that fish sandwich.
President Trump agrees with me that the Mac fish sandwich is
The Bomb!

Using the on-line app a week ago they had BOGO free, so I got 2 for under $5.

Yup prices have gone up, but then I can have more money now and can easily afford it.

In the 70’s money was tight for me, now I planned well for retirement, can eat what I want.
