The male suspect, who was wielding a gun, targeted the victim in Brooklyn, New York on Monday afternoon
He stole a satchel from the victim that contained six packets of diamonds worth $200,000 and a 50-ounce package of gold dust, which is worth $95,000
It wasn't immediately clear if the victim was a jewel merchant
The victim told police the gun-wielding robber jumped into the passenger seat of his car before binding his feet and hands
The robber then sprayed what was believed to be pepper spray in the man's face before fleeing the scene

Why would you bind the victim up? Just grab the loot and run. Sounds like a setup to me.
I can’t imagine some carrying that much value and being so careless.
Something is not right with this story.
Security through obscurity works until it doesn’t
Carrying bags or briefcases full of valuables is very common among Jewish gem dealers and gold merchants. This makes them easy marks, but inside jobs are not uncommon. It’s the diamond merchants’ version of “Jewish lightning.”
