Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.
But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.
And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.
And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.
That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.
Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.
I offer no further apologies. Words are GOOD. ;)
He that suffered in the Garden and on the Cross for all of our sins...

No Jeff...
Youvfe been told time and time again...
The4 LORD Jesus Christ who is God did not suffer in the Garden of Gethsemanee for anybody’s sins...
He shed His blood on the Cross and died on the Cross for our sins in our place and took the deaqth penalty for those sins in our place so we did nopt have to ...
He died in our place so that we could be forgiven fot EVERY sin even murder ...
But it did not happen in the Garden...
It happened on the Cross...
You know what, Elsie? I like Jeff. I think I like Mormons more now too. You embarrass me as a Christian.
Do you come from a small town?
Peter Gabriel lyrics
“Big Time”
I’m on my way I’m making it, huh!
I’ve got to make it show yeah, hey!
So much larger than life
I’m gonna watch it growing
Hey hey hey heyyyyyyy
The place where I come from is a small town
They think so small, they use small words
But not me, I’m smarter than that,
I worked it out
I’ll be stretching my mouth to let those big words come right out
I’ve had enough, I’m getting out
to the city, the big big city
I’ll be a big noise with all the big boys, so much stuff I will own
And I will pray to a big god, as I kneel in the big church
Big time, I’m on my way I’m making it, big time, oh yes
Big time, I’ve got to make it show yeah, big time
Big time, so much larger than life
Big time, I’m gonna watch it growing, big time
Ho ohh ohh, oh oh, ho ohh ohh, oh ohhh
My parties have all the big names and I greet them with the widest smile
Tell them how my life is one big adventure
and always they’re amazed when I show them ‘round my house to my bed
I had it made like a mountain rage with a snow white pillow for my big fat head
And my heaven will be a big heaven, and I will walk through the front door
Big Time, I’m on my way I’m making it, big time, Huh!
Big time, I’ve got to make it show yeah, big time
Big time, so much larger than life
Big time, I’m gonna watch it growing, big time
Big time, my car is getting bigger Big time, my house is getting bigger
Big time, my eyes are getting bigger
and my mouth
Big time, my belly’s getting bigger
Big time, and my bank account
Big time, look at my circumstance
Big time, and the bulge in my big big big big big big big big big big big big big big big
That's an inherently relative term. Define "small." ;)
Ryan’s alarming willingness to pander on illegal immigration...

WHAT ???
God bless you for them, and may he return the blessing ten fold in your life and that of your family.
God's will for us is always best, even when we do not expect it, or it is not what we would have chosen. Adversity can lead to greater faith if we are humble and willing to let God lead in our life...and allow Him to use us and our circumstance to strengthen others...and I give Him and His Son all the credit for all of that as it regards me and my situation...and I thank Him for the opportunity to be a tool in His hands.
God's speed and blessings to you my FRiends.
BTW, here's another video, taken from a year ago when I was asked to make a presentation at MD Anderson regarding my experiences and condition:
A Catholic cannot vote for either without incurring excommunication latae sententiae (automatic) for materially cooperating with abortion. I am a Catholic. IIRC, with all due respect, you are not. I cannot very well purport to speak for those of other faiths and I do not. It is up to those who adhere to such other faiths to speak and decide for themselves. OTOH, I am not likely to take instruction in Catholic morality from non-Catholics either. I'll rely on the Teaching Magisterium, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Canon Law and similar sources.
Some may call the despicable likes of Fr. Charles Curran, the late Fr. Robert Drinan, SJ, the apostate former nun Frances Kissling of "'Catholics' for a Free Choice" and others of their ilk "Catholic" in the sense that they were once baptized Catholic and "thinkers" in the sense that, despite appearances, they have or had functioning brain cells at some point in life. What they were not was actually Catholic. What they are or were is or was self-excommunicated servants of Satan. Neither Obozo nor Romney were themselves excommunicated from the Catholic Church because neither was ever Catholic in the first place.
That does not mean that actual Catholics can take out the old political scales and see which of these despicable excuses for humanity puts a smidgeon more weight on the scale. Evil is evil. Voting for evil makes one evil. Rationalizing will not save one's soul.
The moral relativism espoused by you and other Romney pom pom girls (without regard for Mittler's career of support for mass baby-killing, Church persecution and "gay" everything) may be many things but CATHOLIC is not one of them any more than the sorry souls (like many in Catholic Worker or who are otherwise enslaved by the Demonrat Party) who rationalize for Obozo because he wants to advance socialism and other evils even more quickly than Mittler without regard for his mass baby-killing, Church persecution and support for "gay" everything, have any business calling themselves "Catholic."
There is absolutely NOTHING in the history of Mittler or Obozo that would suggest that either of them would EVER act in such a way as to restrain evil. For either of them that would suggest self-restraint (fat chance of THAT ever happening) since both are EVIL. They both "stink" and both are disqualified for the votes of any rational person who wants to achieve other than evil. This is black and white morally and not the sort of prudential judgment that results from an analysis of alleged shades of grey.
If credible post-election polls were to show that no Catholic voter voted for Obozo and no Catholic voter voted for Mittler, then you may rest assured that the GOP, at least, would never nominate another evil candidate such as Mittler. Regardless of the volume of self-serving lies told by future Mittlers, regardless of the mountains of corrupt money used by future Mittlers to buy GOP nominations, regardless of mass hallucination that anything vaguely resembling either Mittler or Obozo could EVER be other than evil in office.
Do the folks in your town use small words, to the point that you needed to stretch your mouth to let those big words come right out?
The place where I come from is a small town
They think so small, they use small words
But not me, Im smarter than that,
I worked it out
Ill be stretching my mouth to let those big words come right out
If you don’t recognize that evil = hate, then you are indifferent about your liberty.
Voted YES on preventing tipping off Mexicans about Minuteman Project. (Jun 2006)
Voted NO on reporting illegal aliens who receive hospital treatment. (May 2004)
Rated 0% by FAIR, indicating a voting record loosening immigration. (Dec 2003)
To be fair, there are several far better votes on his record relating to said issue, as well... but, nonetheless: those three are worrisome harbingers, absolutely. ;)
That’s my take. What is yours?
***I recently took a jump of my own. Until a few days ago, I was going to write in a conservative republican at the top of the ticket. Straight republican ticket, straight conservative. But after a few pings with Tom Hoefling (Eternal Vigilance) here on FR, I have decided to take the leap to whatever his party is for the top spot. Basically, I’m giving the nod to the FReeper who’s in the race. I’ve heard the expression, “all politics is local”, and there’s no one more local than another FReeper whom I know is conservative.
He is also one of FR’s, Palin hating trolls.
Well, ok. Thanks for using small words this time... . . ;-)
I think you’ve compensated for the other english major on this thread.
Hmmmmmmmmmmm
Whats he done since 2006
What about the AMNESTY Bill ???
40 And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.Clearly, in the Garden He was in agony. And He knew it was coming because He asked God the Father (oh, and He was not praying to Himself there), to remove the cup. Then an angel appeared and strengthened Him and He went into that agony, sweating as it were blood from every pore.41 And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,
42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
43 And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.
44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
We of course believe that was the start of His agony for the Atonment.
You clearly believe differently...and that is fine. But there is no doubt that he suffered great agony in the Garden, the scriptuires themself testify of it.
Night.
And how did he vote on Congressman Duncan Hunter’s fence ???
