Ryan is a good man, but does not redeem the abortionist/homosexualist statist Romney
Aug 11, 2012 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 08/11/2012 4:42:48 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.

But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.

And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.

And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.

That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.

Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.

If FR is a missionary society, fine, but move it to where religion is the main focus of the discussion. That is more appropriate. And we have such a section. With a competent moderator

Perhaps it has escaped your notice that this thread was posted in "News Activism" by Jim Robinson. Your attempt to bury it out of sight in the Religion Forum due to the exposure of mormonism is noted.

Where were your posts against the hateful and nasty comments made against other FReepers for the past 2500 posts? Only because of the exposure of mormonism do you now proclaim "Because the future of America and the people in it are too important to get lost in the weeds over who we disgaree with".

I think it is rather telling that the song Praise to the Man is sung to the tune of “Scotland the Brave.”

It helped elicit strong feelings amongst the early converts to the Church, many of whom were Scottish.

It would be like singing “Hail to Obama” to the tune of the national anthem.

There was not then, and is not now, any lie, or attemnpt to mislead anyone. BTW, ansel12, Fred Thompson dropped out fairly early in 2008...lots was said and discussed on these boards afterwards all the way up until the time that McCain won the nomination.

You continue to lie, and evidently you are not reading our posts.

When you know that JR endorsed Thompson on 1/3/08, and then when he dropped out on 1/23/08 that on 1/31/08 JR endorsed Huckabee and is calling Romney a "truly evil man", and that Romney dropped out 7 days later on 2/7/08, and that Huckabee didn't dropout until March, then why do you keep up this bizarre lie?

You have been trained well by Mormon standards, but it is not effective here.

In case anyone missed it:

Lying for the Lord, by Bob Millet (LDS)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zA-rZQB-xQ

Dr. Robert Millet of BYU

Millet teaches (or did) missionaries on the way out how to deal with questions.

This quote from the tape that is really interesting:

“As Latter-Day Saints, you already know more about God, and Christ, and the Plan of Salvation than anyone who would attack you. You already know more than your attackers will ever know.”

The way you dialog Jeff, I would say you have learned your lessons well.

Dr. Millet's bio: http://religion.byu.edu/robert_millet/

And leaving with this quote:

President Brigham Young explained that “we, the Latter-day Saints, take the liberty of believing more than our Christian brethren: we not only believe the Bible, but the whole of the plan of salvation that Jesus has given to us. Do we differ from others who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ? No, only in believing more.”

Dr. Millet adds to this quote:

It is, of course, the “more” that makes many in the Christian world very nervous and usually suspicious of us. But it is the “more” that allows us to make a meaningful contribution in the religious world.

Remember what the scripture says....”be wise as serpents”....

and...

2 John 1:10
If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him.

SURELY this would include, "Do NOT make him your leader to rule over you." as well; right?

***I’ve never seen a thread “moved” in such a fashion. There’s nothing stopping you from opening the same exact thread on the religion forum and then asking participants to take their religious comments to that new thread. If you feel strongly enough to post what you said, you should do that. But I’ve never seen one moved.

Where did I ever say that his Mormonism was my objection to Romney? It may explain some things about him, but my objection to him is and always has been due to his undeniably liberal progressive abortionist/homosexualist statist record and his constant lying. I believe he is a truly evil man. No less evil than Obama, Reid, Pelosi, Biden, et al, who push the same godless leftist positions as Romney. And they all claim to be devout religious people too. But that doesn’t make them any less evil.

My bottom line is that we can oppose Romney on many many facets without bringing his LDS religion into the discussion and making it the main subject for opposing his candidacy

Item one: The Obama campaign will be making note of the racism of the mormon church all the way through 1977, and Romney's having been a member during that time.

Item two: The fact that Romney (and other "worthy mormons") have taken the following oath numerous times in mormon temples should certainly be considered in his desire for the power of the presidency. Why should we see one "privileged" class take the place of the current class?

You and each of you covenant and promise before God, angels, and these witnesses at this altar, that you do accept the Law of Consecration as contained in the Doctrine and Covenants, in that you do consecrate yourselves, your time, talents, and everything with which the Lord has blessed you, or with which he may bless you, to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, for the building up of the Kingdom of God on the earth and for the establishment of Zion."

I know this oath is declared. I was there.

Romney doesn’t have a life outside of Mormonism.

Romney has never lived outside of his Mormon world.

This unexplained interest in politics, is still part of his Mormon life, that is why he first got permission from his Prophet, before he ran for president.

The enemy is Obama, not our fellow Freepers.

No; he's not.

Satan is the ENEMY and the abundance of SIN in AMERICA is proof of it.

BOTH O and R are mere tools in the hand of our GOD.

No, it isn’t about Mormonism or its exposure, my friend.

I am not a Mormon, in case the thought crossed your mind.

Bury it out of sight? No, just move it to where it belongs, if this is just going to be about religion. The Religion forum is very much in sight, and if folks want to duke it out there, knock yourselves out.

It is no longer about News/Activism at this point, and has not been for hundreds of posts, if you hadn’t noticed.

I thought my motives were quite clear. My mistake.

President of the United States is a servant of the people, elected by us to head the executive branch of the federal government and serve as CIC of our armed forces. Our president does NOT rule over us. WE the people have the ability to remove a president (by way of our representatives in Congress) who does not perform his duties in accordance with the Constitution.

Please refer to the Constitution of the United States of America for additional detail.

A case in point showing how important the deity of Christ is, right here on this thread.

As soon as the deity issue comes up, sf4dubya skeedaddles.

I'm confused...are you professing to know those whom God will condemn or those whom Brigham Young has condemned?

Confused becuase in your original post you spoke for God but now you quote Young.

So, please help me out...exactly whose voice is in your head?

There are frequent posters on this thread that are making FR look like a fruitcake factory.

But, since that they haven't mentioned NAZIs or Hosing the pigs lately; we'll just have to put up with foul mouthed, name calling MORMONs and others.

Free speech DOES mean that sometimes you hear things you'd rather not.
