So here I was - taking my daughter to school this morning (She is a high school sophomore) and she was telling me of a discussion she and the other kids were having about Black History Month.
One kid suggested that - to be fair - there should be a White History Month. He was quickly chastised; "Whites don't deserve a special history month due to the racial prejudices they've committed over the years". My daughter related some of the "Rosa Parks" types of incidents as evidence of why there should be no White History Month.
It was early. I was driving and had not yet had my first cup of coffee. And so I was speechless.

What would YOU have said?
I don’t know what I would have said to her but I’m tired of having to worship at the altar of black pride.
Oh yea, Black history is so much more meaningful.
Sooner or later, whites may very well leave this country, give these spoiled racists their precious black nation, and then laugh as these stupid fools fall apart. Just like Africa.
Coming soon to the nearest Barack H. Obama High School in your area.
To be fair to your daughter you need to educate her on the race baiting mentality of segments of society and to not feel guilty for their sin.
“Whites don’t deserve a special history month due to the racial prejudices they’ve committed over the years”.

To your daughter, i might have said:
Black racisim is far more pervasive TODAY, but they don’t want to hear it, and they fail to understand their own prejudices. They still have a long way to go before they can overcome the bitterness that they have been taught by their parents.
Past injustices by people who are long dead should not be imputed to people who are not guilty of such improprieties.
If people want to be treated as equals, they can’t go around claiming that some people dont “deserve” things because of their race.
Only Whites can be racist.
It is written in stone using black chisels.
All of us are Mutts..
‘With only four years of highschool available, there simply isn’t time to list all the world changing accomplishments of caucasians, honey, or the stories of the millions of dead caucasians that gave their life freeing slaves here in America, or around the world. Cacausians don’t need a ‘year’ or a ‘month’ or even a ‘day’ because they do what they do when the need arises because its the Right Thing, and thats enough for them.’
So am I. I don’t anymore, I only worship God and his Son and not these overpuffed filth.
lolol.
That’s obvious, huh?
As I send her to a public skrewl.
Explain to your daughter that the real racists in our society pander to minorities for their own feelings of guilt and in the process do more harm to their intended subjects by making them feel like they are different and special rather than ordinary human beings. It is the same reason why Mommy and Daddy get Martin Luther King day off from work, but not Washington’s birthday.

Neither.
I’ve had it with all this 24/7 race baiting.
My children have been forced to participate in black history month pageants. Some kid started a rumor that students who don’t participate will be expelled.
My 12 year old son wants to say, “Can I just sit in the audience and read ‘I Am Legend’? It has a picture of a black guy on it...”
He cracks me up sometimes.
Blacks are allowed to have clubs in which only blacks can be members. If blacks only allow other blacks to be in these clubs, it is the definition of racism.
Blacks accuse whites of the racism of people long dead, but think that black racism is permissible.
Agreed. What would happen if the majority of the tax base were to leave? Hell, If I have to live under a socialist regime, I might as well move to Canada.
She must be confrewsed.
Their arguement is that because blacks aren’t in positions of authority, they can’t be racists. They like to pretend that no black has ever risen above the level of lackey.
I would have her ask her friends if they did not know about the whites that shed blood during the civil war to abolish slavery? Or the whites that stood with the black civil rights activists during the 50s and 60s and risked injury or death? How fair is a Black History month if these points are not brought up?
