But Malfoy did not "win" Dumbledore's wand, and Harry didn't "win" Malfoy's wand, either. Ollivander's discussion of wandlore, and the connection between wizard and wands, makes it sound like they don't really understand what makes a person the "master" of the Elder Wand.
Ollivander made it clear taht disarming someone made the wand 'yours'. So Malfoy did 'win' it by the standards of what transfers wand 'ownership'.

The suspense was unbearable. The minute they arrived in GH, I knew something really bad was gonna happen. And boy did it!

It didn't mention his portrait at the end of the book, and I wondered if that were because he was imposed on the school by the Ministry of Magic, and it was the school's way of not recognizing him as such. But, there wasn't a picture of Dumbledore in the office when he was the current Headmaster. And after Snape died, there wouldn't have been time for a new one to show up.

And, who else would have thought to pack that righteous little beaded hand bag!!So true! It kind of reminded me of Mary Poppins' carpet bag, when she kept pulling things out of it!

I for one will be glad when all the excitement over such drivel is finished. With all the good reading available to kids they get potter, porn, and at the college level, queer studies, gender studies, and various ethnic studies. What a waste of time, IMHO.

Dumbledore’s picture showed up pretty quickly, because after he visited Bill, he and Minerva went to Dumbledore’s office, and DD’s portrait was there snoozing.

Some of them you could see coming.
Ratboy and I were listening together, as soon as Xenophilus left the room I said RUN! to Harry, Ron and Hermoine.
Ratboy asked why I said that, and I told him just wait...

Well, there is the scene during Snapes memory when Phineas says mudblood (speaking of hearing Hermione) and there is a sharp "Don't use that word." Whether it came from Snape or Dumbledore's portrait - it didn't say but if it came from Snape then you could definitely see his new tune there.
I remember Dumbledore asked Snape if he would promise to keep the students safe and yet he was allowing the Cruciatus Curse to be used as punishment.

My theory all along has been that she wouldn't kill Harry off for that reason.Ah, but she DID kill off Harry.

I don’t think Snape had much choice, and the students WERE safe, just like Harry was “safe” with the Dursleys.
Dumbledore didn’t stop Umbridge using her horrible quill, and he HAD to have known about it at some point.

Then Snape tries to have them killed so that he could have LilyI didn't read it that way. I read it as when he realized that the prophecy could pertain to Lily's child, and he realized Voldemort was going after him, Snape begged him to spare Lily. It wasn't that he WANTED James and the baby killed, but he knew that Voldemort was going to do it anyway, and he begged for the one person he seemed to have ever loved. When Voldemort killed Lily anyway, Snape went to Dumbledore in grief and remorse, and Dumbledore had him make restitution by placing himself in danger by re-joining the Death Eaters so as to keep tabs on Voldemort.

Not really, I have perused the text (two copies in my house) and see the writing akin to video games and a tremendous waste of time when so much good literature is out there.
