It is always disappointing to be reminded that there are people in the world who do not like you so much that they are willing to debase themselves and others in order to get their way. We, as conservatives face this from the Left on a day to day basis. But when such action comes from another supposed Conservative, that is truly disappointing.
The posters at DU think nothing of swearing and posting the most filthy, perverted and twisted things about their political rivals. We here at FR are, for the most part, better than that. At least we try to be. Unfortunately, there's always someone who proves that both sides have their ugly side.
I have posted a number of pro-Mitt Romney threads recently as have many others. I discovered this afternoon that several of them have been the victims of childish and down right purile dirty tricks. Now, political dirty tricks are nothing new and nor are they uncommon on either side of the aisle. But some simply cross the line of decency. Such is the case with whomever played their little game of messing with the Keywords on these Pro-Romney threads. Here are four examples:

People, campaigning can be a hard and painful thing. You have to have a thick skin to run for office and heaven knows, all candidates take their blows, some more than others. But there is such a thing as decency. And this little prank doesn't just cross that line, it obliterates it.
Disagree with the thread? Fine. Present your arguments. You don't like the candidate? Great. Tell me why and make an attempt at intelligent conversation. That's the way this place is supposed to work. But, resorting to such sophomoric, vulgar and quite frankly bigoted childishness is beneath contempt. If you can't manage a reasonable level of maturity, then there's a whole bunch of like minds over at DU you can have fun with.
NO HE ISN'T. And why would we want to nominate someone who is just as liberal as the 'Rat nominee?
So you think a Mayor has the right to throw anyone out of a public place even if he or she isn’t breaking the law? Is Rudy above the law?
Magical Underpants? WTF???
I swear I didn’t add USMC, but it’s my favorite keyword
Why, because I have pointed out that many here touting a liberal are also members of an anti-freeping site that just so happened to pull an anti-freeping thread within mere minutes of it being linked here?
If I had to guess, i’d say you were worried about your membership, because you are also a member of that antifreping site, but I know better, you’ve been around here in good standing way too long.
I know we have our differences plitically, don’t let that go to your head and become totally biased. Hipocrisy is such an ugly trait.
Some of these keywords are hilarious!
We are in a pre primary. You make a good point on what you say.
It is important to note that our candidate has not been selected yet by voters. Part of the problem here, is the cart has been put before the horse.
We are 9 months ahead of where we usually are. Truth is, no one has had adequate exposure to our options yet. We are being made to think that it does not matter who we choose to vote for in the primary. It is being literally forced upon people that Rudy is the only one. If not, then you must want Hillary. Now that is ludicrous and not too fair. Most conservatives see her with revulsion.
Why even bother with a primary? Just skip it.
I have no problem if a person wants to vote for Rudy in the primary. That doesn’t make them a bad person. But debate and scrutiny is certainly in order to make a decision that a person can live with.
All the candidates are fair game. Even if it is our favorite. It is early yet. People need to take the time to find out about all of them.
Didn't work then. Won't work now.
Now is the time to try and iron out our ideological differences. Get the best candidate we can.
Rudy McRomney should only be considered if everyone else vying for the GOP ticket die in a mysterious plane crash. Not one moment before either...
Where is this “salt river?” Got a link?
It’s a dig at Mormonism.
It's a Mormon thing, I don't understand....
I support him 100%.
It was a city sponsored event.
The city invites who they want.
Arafat showed up uninvited.
Rudy, knowing a terrorist when he saw one, showed him the door and saved the city the expense of security.
That's not above the law.
It is an insult to Arafat, and I understand insulting terrorists offends some people. Doesn't offend me at all.
BTW, if you showed up uninvited at an event I was sponsoring, you'd be thrown out on your butt, and arrested if you didn't comply.
And I'm sure you'd complain I was "above the law".
Social events, they should be open to everybody.
Don't give Hillary ideas.
I wonder who ANGELMORONAYE was?
I’ve heard that, but don’t get the connection.
Look, you’ve already admitted to trolling another site dishonestly, your purpose here is questionable because ALL YOU DO IS CAUSE DISSENTION. That’s it.
TROLL.
I suggest someone flag your account and read all your prior posts. It will soon be apparent that you are on a mission, here and elsewhere.
Fierce Allegiance to the Democratic Party.
Then post poll results that represent all the United Statnes, not just the FR poll.
But someone messed up and anti-freeped in the open forum. Hence the sudden thread deletion.
Hey, if they want to anti-freep, that's their business. Just don't pretend otherwise. But being a Rudy booster, for too many of them, is about pretending. Pretending Rudy is the only one who can win. Pretending Rudy is the only one to fight the WOT. Pretending Rudy is a conservative. Pretending Reagan was pro-abort at one time. Pretending...
You assume a lot about me, and you are wrong.
