I’ve been listening to her sing that last song, over and over. Amazing. To me, she is the American Idol..
My fave parts tonight are few & far between.
R.S.”So,the bitch is fine.” Double meaning LOL!
&

was in the audience in his Navy uniform!
Hands down my fave moment tonight.
I think Jordin has this puppy won.
Did You notice that she stopped herself from doing the fingers up vote for me bit? She started to do that but then paused & then quickly put her hand behind her back... HAhahaha!
Dry eye tear up tries get old too.
But tonight the real emotion made an apperence as well.
& awww, I love the fact that the 1st song she ever sang in her life was “Jesus Loves me”!
Apart from his rendition of “Time of The Season” early on in the season...The rest of Blechk’s performances made me think, Blake you give singing a bad name!
re: 11062 LOL!
Good un’!
;o)
Pppsssst...Bookmarked in my FR Links Allotment now!
That is Dautry?
He is really sexy!
Jordin’s 17?
WHat? THe Pickler is still out there singing and might get a tv show?
Who’s big butt is that? JLO?
IS that Daughtry or Elliot in that picture? Looks like either one of them.......
If it comes down to performances at all, at least. Blake started the evening well, with a reprise of his unique cover of Bon Jovi that is his "signature performance" for the season. Jordin countered with a surprisingly uptempo and aggressive Christine Agulera song. Blake was clearly the better performer, Jordin the clearly better singer. Round 1 to Blake, narrowly, on the strength of performance.
And here's where it started to fall apart for Blake... his second number was kind of dull and fairly mediocre in terms of the vocal ability; no real pizazz to the performance either. Jordin, fortunately deciding against doing "I Who have Nothing" yet again, goes with Martina McBride's "Broken Wing" and knocks it out of the park. Round 2 as a solid win for Jordin.
Finally, the songwriting competition song... first off, if this is the best entry they got, I'm going to enter next year. Next, what the h*** was Blake thinking? If any song needed the "Blake Lewis treatment", this one did, to give him any kind of chance to do it well. Instead, he sings it "straight", and while I liked the opening, by the time the first chorus rolled around, I was already mentally congratulating Jordin for winning. Jordin didn't do a great job with the song either, it was probably her worst performance of the night, but that was still miles better than Blake, and when she broke down crying at the end of the song, you could tell she knew she just won. Round 3 to Jordin, almost by default.
Overall, Jordin wins 2 out of the 3 rounds, and those 2 wins by much larger margins than the round she lost. Jordin stands out as the clear winner of the night, and should take the title.
So... what happened to Blake? Did he tank it on purpose because he doesn't want to be tied to the winner's contract? Did the producers sabotage him by telling him he couldn't remix the contest song? Was he too busy daydreaming about Chris to pay attention?
LOL, Oh man after seeing that I wish i had been the 10,000th poster.
Well you're in luck--I just found another batch of unused Idol tickets! And they're all for the Alabama concert :)
RK posted Dave Barry's top ten list in post 10,781.
No. 9 on the list was: "The celebrity guests in the audience. Lisa Rinna? Jennifer Aniston? Yawn."
I said he was close, Denise Richards was in the audience--LOL :)
Missed you last night :(
Jennifer Lopez's :)
I think Jordin is going to win tomorrow night. Been wrong before, though.
I think she cinched it when she "broke down" on the last line of the song.
Actually, I think Simon was favoring Blake over the last two weeks. He didn't seem to want Jordin to win. But he also recognized what was going on last night, and jumped onto the bandwagon as best as he could.

LOL--I thought you'd like that ;)
Dry eye tear up tries get old too.
Exactly! I could be wrong, but I don't remember seeing any tears on Jordin last night.
Whether the song was written for Jordin or for someone else, Jordin "made it her own"; added tasteful little embellishments and syncopations; whereas Blake's dislike for the song wasn't even thinly veiled. He sang it straight--I'd say "flat" except that this was the only time all night that he was on pitch and NOT flat musically. But flat and lifeless, emotionally.
LOL, I love Dave Barry. His blog is always the funniest about the shows and politics. His 24 thread has kept me laughing all season. I didn’t know he did an AI one too though. Thanks for posting that.
Oh, and by the way, I failed to mention how much fun this thread has been. I have been away most of this season and couldn’t read it until after every one was gone or the next day, but this by and far was so much better than the show!!! Please keep me on the ping list for next year, I wouldn’t miss this for anything.
