She's making the most out of what Idol has given her and she certainly doesn't need any "Clydes" dragging her down.

Clyde's had his chance at a good life and he's blown it. I hope he's capable of one decent thing in his life, and that's to leave his daughter alone. Besides, my own mother taught me exactly one thing, which is that the act of making a baby does not make a parent. And if someone who makes a baby chooses not to be a parent, the child has no obligation to them.

You do have to respect her from rising above where she came from. :) She seems to be a hard worker as well and that's going to help her.

Simon Cowell Accused of American Idol Fix 2/12/07

http://www.celebrityspider.com/news/february07/article021107-8.html

Music mogul and reality show judge Simon Cowell has been accused of planting a British pop star who was once signed to his record company in the second round of American Idol.

Former Take That backing singer Tom Lowe has made it through to the TV singing contest's Hollywood stage after wowing the judges in Seattle, but he stunned Cowell at the end of his audition by saying, "I was at BMG Records in London at the same time that you were there."

Lowe was a member of British boy band North and South, who scored four minor British hit singles on Cowell's record label before splitting in 1998, but Cowell claims he can't remember him.

However, a furious contestant tells British newspaper The Daily Star, "It's really suspicious that they were at the same record company. Simon claims he doesn't remember him but there's a feeling among some people that this could be a fix.

"A career in the States could be worth #100 million so there's a lot at stake and people aren't happy."

Lowe now works in tourism in Boston and sings in a band called Tommy and the Tigers.

I don't like the idea of ANY British person (or other non-American) even being considered for the Hollywood round...

Carrie Underwood wins Two Grammys!

Carrie Underwood holds her Grammys for Best Female Country Vocal Performance for 'Jesus, Take the Wheel', and for Best New Artist, at the 49th Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles February 11, 2007.

"American Idol" winner Carrie Underwood's Grammy victory on Sunday underscored the growing impact that the TV talent show that tracks the rise and fall of musical wannabes is having on U.S. pop culture.

Underwood, the winner of Season 4 of Fox's blockbuster reality series, took home the Grammy for best female country vocal performance, becoming the latest in a growing list of "American Idol" winners to score the music industry's most valued prize.

"This is my first Grammy, hopefully, the first of a few more," said Underwood, also nominated this year for best new artist.

In accepting her Grammy, she thanked God and Simon Cowell, the creator "American Idol," and various others including record mogul Clive Davis

Underwood's single, "Jesus, Take the Wheel" also earned a Grammy for Best Country Song, a songwriter's award. The songwriters were Brett James, Hillary Lindsey and Gordie Sampson.

Kelly Clarkson, "American Idol's" first winner, took home two Grammys in 2006, while another "Idol" winner Fantasia Barrino scored four Grammy nominations in 2006 and winner Ruben Studdard also received one nomination at the 2004 Grammys.

"American Idol" contender Jennifer Hudson took home a Golden Globe for her role in the film "Dreamgirls" and is up for an Oscar for the same performance.

The Grammys last year lagged in ratings against the popular reality show and this year the awards show is running an "Idol"-like contest to choose a singer to perform a duet with Justin Timberlake on Sunday's telecast.

The public trimmed down a list of aspiring singers in the weeks preceding the Grammy telecast. During the live awards show, they will choose the winner of the "My Grammy Moment" contest.

"We thought we could try a new and fresh element that would speak to the world about the next generation of undiscovered young talent," Neil Pornow, president of the Recording Academy, which hands out the Grammys, told Reuters in a recent interview.

Clarkson created a stir when she failed to acknowledge the popular Fox network show that made her famous when she picked up her trophies last year for best pop vocal album and best female pop vocal performance.

I didn't watch the show - didn't want to see the chix win everything imaginable...which of course, this being a hollywood crowd, they did....it's amazing to me that year in and year out rarely does a true country act win any of the awards....i guess it comes from having all members, regardless of music genre, vote and therefore, people like the chix, who are not a country act by any stretch of the imagination, win....i was so hoping Carrie would win her two nominations and she did...good for her!

Donkey makes me smile. I just want to hug him.

That's the best role Eddie Murphy has done since Beverly Hills Cop, imo. :)

I'm so happy for her. Such class this gal's got. She is proud of her music and I was thrilled she thanked not only God, but the people at AI who made it possible for her to be there.

I didn't watch the Grammy's due to the atrocious Dixie Chicks being on there and probably winning a bunch - which they did. So I missed Carrie singing. Am sorry for that. But so glad she won 2 Grammy's - plus her song won didn't it?

I have her first CD and plan to keep buying her music. She has a tremendous voice and future - and is so pretty. I hope nobody trashes her up. She is just beautiful and has such a bright future.
